One of the great traps of the ego-mind is our human desire to 'know' everything. The ego says 'I’ll be happy and secure if I understand how I got here and where I'm going, but not until then....'
It just doesn't work that way, as history and a glance at the current world situation shows.
It doesn't matter HOW we got here. We're here, and if we want to grow and survive, we have to learn to get along with each other.
If humans are at the 'top' of the evolutionary ladder, at least on Earth, then we must recognise the incredible, and to date, the largely ignored responsibility this insinuates.
When we recognise our deep and undeniable connection with ALL life,
with ALL beings, we will know better 'who' and 'what' we are, and hopefully we will be able to honour our responsibilities as care-givers, rather than the takers we have been.
If we can humble ourselves enough to take advice from the wisdom of the native elders, while maintaining our own individuality, we might have a chance to survive.
The 'wise elders' of the native traditions are those who have deep knowledge of how humanity can live in harmony with the environment.
It would be wise to remind ourselves that there is not ONE ecosystem on the planet that relies on human beings. But, if we were to lose the earthworms, or the bees; life on Earth would end for all.
The problem with believing that we are the highest on the evolutionary ladder is with the rationalisation of some who use this belief to squander and waste the resources of the environment for their own, selfish ends.
As all plant life is connected and rooted to the same Earth, nurtured and fed by the rain that falls and the Sun that shines from the same Sky;
So are we, humans and others, beings of consciousness great and small, connected to that same One Field, that Source of Being some call 'God' or ‘Great Spirit’ and is the Pure Awareness that births us, feeds us and receives us before, during and after our finite expressions
have their play.
May All Play in the Joy of this Knowing.....
