Blog: Journey of Light
I began my journey of light like everyone else when I was born into this amazing and wonderful world of possibilities. Starting off as a young child, I always felt that pull towards greater unity with God and the people around me. I had a deep sense of empathy towards others and was able to connect with certain people on a deeper level than most children my age. I now realize that I had the ability to sense and feel emotions and energy. At the time, I was just considered to be oversensitive or too emotional. Terms used by those who did not have a full understanding of their true nature or mine.
After years of adolescent awkwardness, feelings of being different and alone and the teachings of Catholicism, I turned my back on my gifts in an effort to fit in with everyone else. Instead, I put all of my faith into my religion and tried my best to follow it with all my heart. At the time, it helped to fill me with joy as I believed I was in greater harmony with God and his purpose for me in this world. However, that joy did not last forever. As I grew older and started to uncover who I really was as a person, I realized that this religion no longer spoke to me or filled me with joy. While there may have been certain truths that first drew me to it, there were too many messages of fear, guilt and disharmony. While these feelings took root and began to grow, I started to question the teachings I had once put so much faith into. For the first time, I was able to learn about the real Jesus. I delved into the subject of the historical Jesus and tried to learn as much as I could through history books and archaeology. This enabled me to have a greater understanding of this person whom I had worshiped for so long.
This awakening as I term it started me back on this journey of light which I embarked on even before birth. This was the moment when I plugged myself out of the matrix. I began to delve into the subject of spirituality which entered my life like a breath of fresh air. Before, it was hard for me to understand that I could have faith and a belief in God that was not centered and controlled by any religion. A belief in a God that could exist beyond the confines of dogma and tradition. My thirst for knowledge led me to books that would help to expand my awareness and consciousness and help to reclaim the gifts I had as a child. It was an effort to re-member as some have termed it. To remember that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience and as spiritual beings we are connected to all things including and especially God.
This journey has introduced me to the ideas of conscious creation, the art of allowing, positive thinking, chakras, energy healing, nutrition, exercise, alternative medicines, meditation, intuition, psychic gifts, empathy and so many other areas of spirituality that I never knew existed before. Now I have been able to use all these ideas to help add greater health and healing to all areas of my life especially to that which I consider to be the triad of perfect health: the mind, body and spirit. Through the healing of my own mind, body and spirit, I have also been able to introduce friends and family to these concepts therein adding greater joy and happiness to their lives. All of this has brought me greater joy than I ever thought possible.
So now I look back upon my life and realize how far I truly have come. I now enjoy the ability to pat myself on the back and say job well done. That’s something we all need to do from time to time. I also look forward in anticipation of moving further and further along this journey of light. With every day, comes a new and wonderful revelation that leads to greater unity with all things.
