Detoxification using a Saltwater Foot-Bath and electrical current (positive and negative ions) becomes more and more popular and Units with different names (Ion-cleanse, ionic Energizer foot bath, Ion Detox Foot Spa Bath Ionic Bio Array Therapy, Dual Chi Ion Ionic Detox Foot Bath Aqua Spa Cleanse MP3 etc.) are offered from several hundred to several thousand of dollars.
In our Center AWHAI (Academy for Wholistic Healing Arts, Inc.) in the Philippines we use and research many so-called wholistic (holistic) Healing Methods and beside the very effective Liver Flush and Coffee Enemas we also frequently use Ion Cleanse Machines (different brands) and observe its effects on our Patients.
We could not find any difference in the units we used and our research showed that the mechanics of these cleansing units are very simple and based on a few physical and physiological facts.
It is very easy to impress most people with this procedure due to the colorful and graphic outcome of the usually 30 minutes long sessions.
The very positive results observed on most of the patients after several sessions are indeed encouraging however we do not want to overrate this and believe that it is because if the mix of actual detoxification through the unit a belief into this therapy by the patient (placebo effect) and the lifestyle change many of our patients start with their therapy after we give them specific advices tailored to their individual problems as soon as the patient realizes that a cleansing might be a good idea.
For many it is not a magic bullet and cure for all but a complement that is easy to use, affordable and even fun.
Depending on the individual patient we do or do not explain in details how the units are functioning in order to achieve the best outcome all with the goal of treating the patient fair and for his best ensuring that there are positive thoughts and not doubts attached to the therapy.
The different manufacturers of these units give sometimes miracle like sounding claims about their product and its effectiveness which is in our opinion not correct and the intention seems clearly the sale of the product and not the patient’s wellness.
The usual story goes like that: During the 30 minutes long ion-cleanse foot bath positive and negative ions are flowing through the body attaching themselves to toxins thus neutralizing them. These toxins are then drawn into the water through the pores of the feet which is changing its color during the treatment session. The variations in the color supposable is due to the different organ areas and toxins that are cleansed and it is claimed to be proof of the effectiveness of the machine.
To clear this questionable claim we did our own research and here is our story:
The change of color in the water happens with the feet inside the bath or even without the feet in the bath and it is mainly due to the Electrolysis that happens when electrical current flows. It is a result of a chemical reaction between the array (metal) and the salt (water).
However there is in most cases a noticeable but small difference when the procedure is done with feet in the saltwater bath which suggests that some matter is released from the body into the water which is only the beginning of the detox-process.
The majority of the detoxification is not during the foot bath but within the next 48hrs and it happens following the natural detoxification procedure within the human body involving liver, kidney, skin etc.
Certain reactions in some patients, so-called Healing crisis, may be due to higher amounts of toxins released but are noticed seldom.
This detoxification often takes place without any noticeable reactions and would be judged by some patients as not effective due to the lack of `evidence`, that is why the visible change of the color in the water of the foot bath is important for these patients and their Healing path.
The detoxification procedure using ion cleanse machines showed good results in many of our patients and seems to be without risk (for most people so please consult your doctor first and follow the manufacturers instructions).
It is definitely worth a try.
If someone goes for a couple of sessions in a place that offers these treatments and wants to continue with regularly sessions at home then I can tell you a little secret: You do not need to spend a lot of money for your own ionic detox cleanse system – the most you spend is probably around 50 US$ if you make your own!

me parece muy interesante y loable la mision que tienes encomendada muy pocos seres se interesan por sus semejantes y menos tienen la posibilidad de llegar a todo el mundo a traves de internet me encantaria que pudieses conversar en español pues mi ingles es poco, pero suficiente para enterder, de lo contrario debere aprender mas ingles para entender y aprender mas de lo que quieres compartir con tus semejantes, gracias a dios por seres como tu.

Thank you for proving this useful information on “Foot Bath”. You have really summarized in more details about the usefulness of foot bath and I think your visitors certainly will find it more useful.
I have been using this detox foot bath and I really find it more useful and helpful. Detox Foot Bath really gives a luxury sensation to legs if the legs are cramped up inside socks, boots and wooly slippers. Foot detox also helps to filter toxin from body which helps in reducing headaches, poor circulation, constipation and many other medical conditions.
