Blog: Ya' think?? HUH...
This was true in 1907 as it is today...
The year is 1907, one hundred years ago...
Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907
Every American citizen needs to read this!
KEEP THIS MOVING
If you think otherwise just maybe you are in the wrong country??

i think english should be spoken everywhere. it sounds the easiest to understand and pronounce of all the languages. i see no reason why all humans could not adopt it.

English is a horrible language to learn. Among all languages it takes the longest for children to learn, the reading and spelling are particularly difficult and the syntax has a number of challenges.
While I like French and Latin, and I enjoy the robustness of German, I would recommend Spanish. It has simple pronunciation rules, all the letters are pronounced as they appear and I find the syntax far more flexible.

You are correct it is difficult to learn; not as bad as Arabic or Chinese... But it has so many advantages in word forms and thus communication... Not to mention it wide use and diverse uses in technical communication... HUH!!
Spanish is nice in South Americia...
Thanks... Kermit

it didn't take me any time at all, couple years to learn the basics. spanish uses some of our words, then a bunch of weird sounds. english makes the most sense and is easiest to pronounce of all the languages. you can have a stroke just trying to speak german, and spanish isn't far behind.

Thanks for your vote for English...
There are many reasons to use english, some of which are:
1) It has become the language of preference in finance, law, maritime, medical and international avaition...
2) It offer more modifiers and ability to describe than any other language; bar none! As far as expression in writing or spoken word it can not be beat... HUH!!
3) It is the major foreign language used and studied in most of the world; French is next; Spanish is like 8th... What do you know!!
4) English is one of the few Technical languages in the world; which includes: French, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, a few others... BTW Spanish does not make the list...
Thanks for your views...
