It's election day in the USA, and locally clean water is a much-debated issue. Most of the issue centers around our right to vote not to have our water fluoridated. There's apparently also lead and arsenic content in the water here.
Huge numbers of dentists and other people who call themselves medical professionals have spoken out in favor of continuing to dump toxic chemicals into our drinking water, stating that, reducing it to the most basic terms, our teeth will rot if we don't have fluoride in our drinking water.
Personally, I don't use the tap water much at all, except in a very filtered form to wash my dishes and I've got a high-quality filter in the bathroom on the shower head too.
Water affects all of us. The safety of our water should never have to become a politicized issue. It just stuns me that people have to sign petitions and get an item on the agenda to vote to protect our water from toxins that should not ever be put in water in the first place.
Think about it.
Anyway, here's the website for our local movement to protect the water:

I am quite grateful to all the people who have worked so hard to make a positive change in our environment.

Unfortunately, due to lots of $$ and backing from the Dentists and Doctors in town, this was voted down, and there will still be fluoride and other toxic chemicals added to our drinking water. I hope the shower filter I got removes all this stuff. And our family doesn't drink the tap water. But it is still disturbing to see that distorted advertising from big money interests can totally sway an election. At least that's my view of what happened. Thanks for listening.

Thanks for your posts...
Having worked several years in Water Resources, I feel that most people do not take clean, fresh H2O serious... Have been on studies, and seen it in various parts of the world... It is like of like the next breath of air; most people don't really think about it until it is either bad or not there... So SAD!!

It seems that definitions of clean water vary among people.
It's a shame that our drinking water has become politicized. And that it's becoming politicized has not served to improve it. At least not here in this so-called liberal stronghold where I live.
It's a good thing there are sources of pure water in the foothills nearby.
Thanks for your comment!
