Suppose the American people get really fed up with our government's mishandling of the Katrina disaster (or possbly the next one or two), to the point of saying "Forget all this, we need a new government! Let's dump the gov't of, by, and for the secret societies!"
Along comes somebody with a Plan. A new "natural" disaster hits us, and he quickly comes to the rescue, proving his love for our people and power to act. We gladly hand over our rights and property to this guy. He plays along for a while.
Then he shows his true colors. A MAJOR, GLOBAL disaster comes upon us all. We the Peons find ourselves herded like cattle into railroad cars headed for death camps, possibly in Canada or Mexico. We have no rights at all, not even freedom of conscience. We are fed nutritionless rations and denied basic necessities. But we still love this guy because he appears to "save mankind" from The Disaster.
The Disaster is the Rapture, the sudden disappearance of people from all over the world in an instant. Anybody who could appear to halt the disappearances would be hailed as a Savior-- a God.
Time will tell, and I don't think we're talking about a whole lot of time.
