Why is it that people who despise the Bible and Christianity feel the need to tell us how we're supposed to act? They have no clue. They make up Christian behavior rules of their own and then criticize us for not following them! If we acted the way they think we should, we'd be between a rock and a hard place, because if we're too different they say "Who wants to live like that?" but if we're too much the same as them they say "Why become a Christian?"
Instead of trying to please people who will condemn us no matter what we do or don't do, let's let God define our behavior, and He says "Be like Jesus". So what was Jesus like?
He was kind and gentle to the humble, but harsh and blunt with the proud. He brought the Good News to the dregs of society, but called the religious elite hypocrites and vipers. He washed the feet of those who called him Lord, but overturned the tables of those who treated him like a commodity to be marketed. Jesus was no doormat, and he didn't concern himself with getting along with everyone. He spoke the truth without regard for his audience, as even his bitterest enemies admitted.
We're here to preach the gospel without compromise, without fear, without hesitation. The message is that Jesus died for everyone and so everyone can be saved, by putting their trust in him alone. That is a message of love. On the other hand, when we get fearful of negative reactions and water down the gospel to "let Jesus touch you and you will have peace", we are not being loving at all, for we are simply making the lost feel good about their lost condition. The dead need to be born again, not made to look natural!
What message are you sending? Do people know why they need a Savior, or do you make them feel comfortable about their dead spirituality? Just plant the seeds and let the soil react as it will. Some will despise us for preaching the Truth, but that's not our concern. We are to please our Master above all, even our own "score sheet".

Look again at how we 'met'. You made a statement, I made a statement, so far so good. Then you responded with hostility. I'm not allowed to defend myself? I said I would leave you alone, but here you are. This blog is the only place no one can "moderate" me out of, so if you want to speak you can also start a blog, or post anywhere you want, because I'm going to just stay here now since I am as unwelcome in the discussion forum as anyone else.
I have no control over who posts what in any part of curezone, so why people keep accusing me of not allowing others to speak is beyond me. Are you allowed to challenge me (that was the title of your first post) but I'm not allowed to challenge you?
You said, "I believe we can discuss our differences in a civil manner. Are you willing to do that? I am willing to hear something and learn something from you, if you will only give discussion a chance. Will you?"
If I had been the one to say that, you would be understandibly upset. You have already judged me as being unwilling to listen and uncivil in manner. You have collected favorable votes for no reason other than that you oppose me. This is nothing I'm not used to.
I can take hate from unbelievers all day long, but when it comes from those claiming Christ I have no tolerance for that. I'm not the one turning on fellow believers around here, per your email. Why you thought that my responses to yours were not "discussion" I don't know. How can you demand discussion without opposition? Can you not tolerate disagreement? Am I supposed to only say words from some approved list? If opposition repulses you, why are you here in my blog? You seem to have plenty of support in the debate forum as well, and I did say I would leave you alone.
I'm sorry, but people here seem to think only they are allowed to speak their minds, but have a hissey if I speak. Fine, if that's what they think is right, but here in this blog I'm speaking. They'll have to ban me to shut me up. I can't and won't stop you from saying whatever you want, but as long as this blog exists I'm going to speak freely.
