Blog: 28 day water fast
| I've made it to Day 4!!! So this has now officially been my longest fast, and I'm feeling pretty good about myself. Yesterday was probably the hardest day so far- I was really tempted to end the fast and binge, but I'm really happy I didn't. I wasn't feeling hunger pains, I was just emotionally really missing eating food, and bingeing in particular. That's how I knew I needed to stay on the fast, because what I really want out of this experience is a healthier relationship with food. Symptoms wise, I'm still doing really well. My period is almost gone already, but I'm not complaining!! Maybe every month I should do a mini fast during my period, because this has been great. I still have some back pain, but it's manageable. Tongue isn't really white yet, and my breath isn't terrible. I'm wondering when the detox will start? I'm happy it's the weekend, so I can relax and just lay around reading. My job is a little physical, and while it hasn't affected me thus far on the fast, I think it's good to just let my body rest on the weekends. I've basically cleared my social calendar and won't be seeing anyone until I break my fast. I'm truly shocked that I've been able to fast this long. Four days might not seem long to other people, but for a food addict like me it's huge. I thought I'd have more hunger pains, but there really hasn't been any at all. Maybe fasting is very mental, because I'm really motivated. Whatever the reason, I'm just taking it one day at a time and grateful I've made it this far.
