  • Balling & Squalling!   by  kerminator     13 y     3,690       3 Messages Shown       Blog: Uncommon Wisdom!!

From my front porch, coming up on 70 next Birthday; it seems that most of the world has gone lazy, incompetent and just plain stupid!   Why you ask?   Well growing up down in South Georgia, Dixie way, we learned if you want or need something  "ya gad'a work for it!"    Don't ask for something that you can do for yourself!

We use to have a Bible reading and flag salute every morning at school...  The school year was from the Monday after Labor Day until just before memorial Day... Everyone dressed in conservative cloths, spoke with proper English, showed respect for elders, and were sent to the Office when necessary to correct any misunderstanding about how to act in school!   The Teacher was in charge of the Classroom, and we knew that we were there to learn!  (unlike just show up school of today)

A home we had chores to do, {this had nothing to do with making young people do slave labor} for two reasons, first it is necessary to learn that you are responsible for yourself and to learn how so if possible  you  could take care of yourself...   Then Since most people in the family group and neighborhood had their work to do it was necessary to do your part!  We did not talk back, (sass elders), and generally only spoke when spoken to or when outside playing with friends!  This allowed for an over all predictable society which an expected type of behavior from all involved!  While not perfect, it did offer a sense of who you were and how to act in most situations!

As the Mass Media became more predominate, with all the entertainment , sports and so called "World Events' became common place; the society has unraveled! It is becoming more a Big Me, self centered type society!  With  a get "More" for their slogan!

More recently with the new Gov't  programs {which were suppose to help} many people have become less self sufficient, or self reliant, and now wait on someone else to come to their aid!  Where did common sense and do what you can go?

     Some examples:

     1)  Not long after the 911 system was put into place; the local newspaper ran a " Letter to the Editor " , where some citizens were complaining that the county emergency services, could not guarantee that there would be an Ambulance at their Drive way within 15 minutes!  Well Waaaaa!  I have been to places in the world where there is not a doctor within 200 miles... How about live with it folks!

     2) Now the schools are ran by Gov't mandates, under the NEA national Teachers Union; most all discipline is gone, there is not any religious principle taught and the fad driven entertainment - Pro Sports world dictates what students wear and listen to!  The younger generation is now in a constant "Sell to or Ya Gad'a Buy " syndrome...  It starts with the so called "Cartoon" networks, right up to the daily radio -TV , IPod, cell fon driven generation!  Talk about slavery, just watch them, bow and curtsey to the latest fads or promotions!

BTW; This is not limited to the younger generation alone!

     3)  Looking at the world over all with the modern speed of communications and internet ; everyone seems to be trying to get all they can from everyone else!  What is stupid about this lust for more is that there is only so much to go around!  HUH!  So everyone can not have as much as they want or even as much as some of the more effluent countries!   It just is not available!  Sorry but those are the facts!

     4) Many of the Federal Gov't programs in the past hundred years, have basically destroyed much of the family life in the U.S.  The males in the Black society has been for the most part removed from the family group...  The Black women are now married to the Gov't which is where they get they money, housing, education{if you can call it that} and other support!  Such a shame!  Through social engineering, Marriage is being destroyed in the name of fairness to an invalid situation; the Homosexual revolution!

     5) Then with programs like the ADA,  which alone moved the U.S. from single digit disability, to double digit making it one of the highest in the world!  Shows how people will come to use whatever is available to take advantage of options... ** Note; This is not to say that there are some people who actually need help with their disabilities!     This just points out how some will use what ever to benefit themselves, for an example:  I have seen many using the Handicapped parking when there was nothing noted wrong with them!

     6) Another thing noticed in our neighborhood,  it has about 70 houses in a circle...  About once a week it seems that the Fire/ Ambulance comes into the neighborhood...  There have been fires here, but these are just call outs, people use the system just because they can...   Seldom has it been any real emergency!

Coming to a stopping point, why don't people just try to do the best they can with what they have!  Be a good neighbor, then share and care...

Try to do what you can for yourself!   The Gov't is not going to fix everything!  DUH!

It is good to hear from you my friend!

So much of the problems we see in this world are brought on by ourselves...  Most do not want to admit that yet the facts say otherwise!

Neither I ( nor anyone) has been perfect; but we should have learned from our mistakes...  Otherwise we are bound to repeat the lessons over and over!  When will we ever learn?

Most of the world is but smoke and mirrors; which tend to divert us into wasting our time seeking the wrong way!

Prayer, some fasting and supplication into the Holy Scriptures will go a long way toward guiding us on the Right Pathway!
