Thank you Dr. Braunstein!
Unfortunately this piece does not include "The Whole Truth" regarding Raw Milk. Milk which is intended for pasteurization is not the same milk that is intended for direct human consumption in it's naturally raw state. All the precautionary recommendations you made are certainly necessary for the first milk (milk which is intended for pasteurization) and I endorse that necessity. However, the truth is that there are two different milks that come from two different "worlds" or sets of circumstances. Your picture does not include the history of milk and why the distillery dairy milk of its day was the start of the "milk problem". Pasture's technique was applied to the sick milk however pasteurization never really corrected the true causes of the deadly milk! Those true causes and a lot more is covered in the highly informative DVD:
"Raw Milk: The Whole Truth". See four video clips at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/ChefJem33#p/p
Dear Readers! - always remember that there are two milks ...
and unfortunately the milk that flows from commerce is completely disconnected from the very very long tradition of the most wholesome milk that typically came from a family cow (or other mammal) and was often served so fresh that it was still warm! That is the milk that Dr. Bernard Jensen, the early Mayo Clinic, as well as many other health professionals have recommended to their patients as it is "food as medicine". (Remember Hippocrates, doctor?) "According to Ayurveda, milk is best consumed fresh and warm, right out of the milk bucket". But that milk does not exist in commerce! Commerce can not even touch that milk! And yet people all across America ("Land of the free") are getting fully informed, becoming much more aware and understanding of this issue and choosing to cross over from the images and the pictures created to sell the commerce product to the more real and direct connection with the farm and the animals that are cared for like extended family members rather than as machines that are pushed to their maximum production through whatever means necessary to the point where their lives are dramatically shortened. Any one who knows the truth about those living conditions can understand how that "milk" has to be pasteurized or it is at risk to being the deadly milk that started the problem (some time after the war of 1812 when farm land converted to grains for the distilleries that rose up after the British embargo blocking the import of "rum and whiskey"). Watch the DVD and know "The Whole Truth" about "Raw Milk".
