Since coming to Montana I have worked various jobs and have witnessed some unbelievable things. It seems like Montana employers for the most part are not generous and for some. Not respectful of their employees.
Racism, bigotry against minorities is far from dead in the USA and this writer is starting to make Montana Senate Democrats like Max Baucus and John Tester angry.
Montana Governor Schweitzer has ignored the cries of bigotry and corporate exploitation of workers as he lines his pockets with huge contributions from Companies that do business in Montana and treat employees like slaves and pay chump change
The Hospitality industry in montana and in Yellowstone Park is full of anti minority, anti semitism, anti older worker bigotry,
In A Bozeman Montana Wyndham Hotel a Black employee, a porter named Spirit was mocked by the manager who called her schizophrenic because she had complained about racist comments. I wa stold by the hotel manager that the porter was schizophenic and the hotel was not racist. Yet, this same hotel told me to profile.Whitelandia

I cannot really remember a time when there was not an African American of Hispanic or other diverse group of students in my classroom in the Bronx.
I have since traveled across the globe and have lived and worked for many different companies and after many decades I have seen some change. But, behind closed doors and so closed doors diversity in the workplace is still resisted by many white American's.
Bigotry is not limited to white people not accepting minorities. Although racism is probably as strong know than it has ever been in the history of our nation.
Bigotry in the workplace includes sexism, homophobia, liberal and conservative phobia, anti age, anti semitism., ans other bigoted generalizations toward various races and cultures.
i can list many places who have broken the law, employee rights, lied to state officials. I even saw census worker get stoned at fort Missoula during training. The census of Missoula ignored that and other legal violations.

ually shared pvt information, violated driving regulations and made comments that were in favor of drug use.
T Pioneer league games in Missoula, montana you will not see very many, if any Hispanic players winning plaayer of the game honors. Why? The management of the Osprey are not fluent in Spanish.
Super 8 hotel in West yellowstone actually covered up the fact that they did nothing to remove swastika from the living quarters of a Jewsih employee.
The Lake Hotel in Yellowstone park covered up anti black, chinese racism and outright sexua| harassment of under 21 females. Again, white racists, ignorance, and outright abuse of minorities by the white managers and employees at lake Yellowstones Lake Hotel.
I can go on and point out actual incidents knowing that the Media in Montana would not pursue any bigotry. The Majority white media in montana is ignorant, racist and lack any ethics. Politics is run by white men who are in bed with the Montana media. So all one gets is fluff and meaningless stories or AP newswire reprints.
From the earliest days in the United States when White men arrived and murdered and displaced native Americans in a manner not different from the holocaust in Nazi Germany. In Montana, The Dakotas, Wyoming, Utah, etc. Native Americans tribes were pushed off their land. Infected with diseases that never existed in north America. Native American women were raped, the men humiliated and their culture and traditions mocked by the white man.
The treatment of Africans was not any better. Human beings were bought and sold as if they were merchandise. They were forced to work on plantations and imprisoned by their white masters. It was less than 150 years ago that native Americans and African blacks were enslaved and imprisoned for the sin of not being white.
A little more than a half century ago many Americans , including the New York Times were praising the accomplishments of a man called "Adolph Hitler". Hitlers atrocities were barbaric.
But, were the barbaric deeds of Adolph Hitler any different than those committed by the white man in the name of their god? Remember, the white man thought that blacks and native Americans did not have any souls. In the beginnings of Mormonism blacks were thought to not have souls and to have been punished by God with dark skin. While white people in the Mormon faith were thought of as the delightsome. Because the white color skin and long straight hair was thought of as a delight to look at.
This writer has worked and volunteered in Various cities in the United States. I have been very disappointed in how the hospitality industry, sports industry, education and retail have taken a gint step backwards and have chosen to continue to discriminate and spread stereotypes that are clearly bigoted and racist.
