48 hours and counting. Can't wait! I have decided to eat an ultra pure diet in between these periods of water fasting, to try to keep my body in "detox mode". Although I am craving a nice rare steak librally sprinkled in sea salt, I am going to go vegetarian for the next three weeks. Not even going to bake my nice little salmon fillet in lemon sauce... Why?

From what I've been reading during this fast, I am becoming more convinced that we Americans simply eat too much animal protein, actually, too much protein in general. So this is a good time for me to try to reset my eating habits. Will I totally give up my steaks and fish..not a chance. Call me uncouth, call me unenlightened, but whatever you do, you can't call me anemic.

Seriously, I have a male cousin who has been a Vegan since he was 16. He's now 35 and unmarried, pale, mostly bald, thin as a rail, and one of the sickest looking individuals I have ever known. And he's not one of those junk food substitute Vegans. He does it for his health...

Now I've decided to share something fairly gruesome, but my hope is, that it will encourage and give hope to someone else out there. Last night, I had two very sharp, jabbing pains in my uterus, within maybe 20 minutes of each other. Since I have had all sorts of strange bodily feelings during this fast, I did not think alot about it. However, this morning, I discover two very distinct patches of blood and yellowish fluid in my underwear. My initial reaction was fear, because usually blood like this(when it's not your cycle) is a sign of uterine cancer. However, when I calmly and rationally put two and two together (the pains from last night, and the fact that I have had PCOS-Polycystic Ovary Syndrome since my early 20's) I realized that what had happened was that I had two fluid-filled cysts spontaneously burst and start healing. So very, incredibly cool. However, I think it best to wear a panty liner from here on out!!!

Well, it's still really early in the day here and really much too early to blog, but I have a ton of things I need to do today--like going shopping!! Got to make my veggie grocery list... carrots, tomatoes, celery, cukes, lots of cukes...

Since when is the last time you really looked forward to going to the grocery store?

Oh, yeah, almost forgot...tomorrow's weigh in day!

    More later...

      Hello,

I have been reading your fasting journey and I am just amazed at all the wonderful things that have happening to you. You have such a good attitude and are fairing so well with your fast! I wish my was as easy. I am only on day 6 and I am feeling weak and having alot of nausea due to the flood of ketones (fat that has been burned away and intered my syster to be flushed out)in my system.

      Keep it up.

I am looking forward to reading about your next step into juice fasting.

      :o)
