  • Day 5/30(1st round)-307 pounds   by  #70614     15 y     2,608       4 Messages Shown       Blog: Fasting for Health
This day is going so smooth. I woke up did a bit of cleaning and organizing. My legs feel a bit sore but I'm sure is because I haven't exercise in a while.

I'm so happy to see my weight coming off. I'm aware that it will slow down later but so far so good.

One thing that I'm glad about is that for some reason I don't crave food, I don't want it and I'm going to see this fast thru all the way to the end.

For those out there who are heavy and think they can't do it I have a tip that may help you start fasting.

Before you fast do about a week of low carb. This way your body switches to burn fat and your glucose storages are used up. This way you don't get that bad sugar crash that causes those horrible headaches.

This is why this fast it's being pretty easy to do. I gave my body a chance to get into ketosis first. Doing it this way it makes the transition to the fast a breeze.

I know some people recommend eating fruits and veggies before a fast. But for someone with serious food addictions and a lot of weight to lose that doesn't work.

Well it's all for now. I hope to be on 300 by the 7th day of the fast.

    Happy fasting!

    Becca

Thanks for the pre fast tip... You are doing awesome good luck and keep it up! Could you write a bit more about what kind of juice you are consuming on your fast, how much of it and how often, if you are using a juicer or just squeezing lemons... just wondering thanks, Sarah

I'm going to start a MC fast in about a week...I'm just waiting for my college summer semester to be done i can't fast and study for finals

        SFelis001,

Thank you so much for your support!

I'm not doing a juice fast. That's way too much sugar for someone like me who needs to lose so much.

I'm doing a water fast. Why?

Well, because I have areas of my body that need healing and because water fasting helps me to burn more fat. Juice fasting is ok for someone who just wants to fast to detox but not for weight loss on this scale.

Let me know if this helps. I'll be glad to give you more information and book referrals.

        Becca

Yes I agree with you that getting yourself into ketosis first can help quite a bit. I have experimented with this before and it does seem to help. I do it with veggie low-carb foods.

Also, I think anyone who has a serious coffee or other addition should try to wean themselves off of those things too before a fast to make it easier.

      Congrats on day 5!
