Blog: Boost Your Glutathione Levels
This is good news. mycobacteria infections are some of the most difficult to deal with. pneumonia and tuberculosis are two common myco infections, there are many others. But glutathione (GSH) does not kill the mycobacteria direclty, rather GSH raises levels of your body's natural killer cells, and the NK cells then kill the mycobacteria.

It is becoming increasingly apparent that natural killer (NK) cells play a crucial role in innate defense mechanisms against Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Furthermore, NK cell functions are dependent on adequate levels of glutathione. In this study, we examined whether the NK cell-mediated growth control of intracellular M. tuberculosis is dependent on adequate levels of glutathione. We investigated the effects of glutathione both alone and in combination with interleukin-2 (IL-2) or IL-12 or both in modulating NK cell functions, such as cytolytic activity, activating receptor expression, induction of apoptosis, and cytokine synthesis. Our results strongly indicate that glutathione in combination with IL-2+IL-12 augments NK cell functions, leading to control M. tuberculosis infection.

Finally started TMG today. Plan on doing 2g day for a while and see what develops. How long have you been on it and what effects have you seen.

i have been taking it very inconsistently for about six months. now i am creating a dedicated supplement protocol that i will stick with. i am taking about 3 grams a day. i take 3 caps of a multi amino, one cap of orn/arginine and two grams of TMG on an empty stomach before breakfast. that really feels great. its very energizing. i also take some selenium with that, since you need selenium to synthesize glutathione. the basic building blocks of glutathione are L-cysteine, L-glutamic acid, glycine and selenium, so this protocol supplies all of them in large amounts.
then i take another gram of TMG sometime in the afternoon or evening.
