After giving up on over the counter products I searched the web and for natural alternatives to get rid of my warts. I saw apple cider vinegar mentioned on more then one site with lots of testimonials about how well it removed warts so I decided to give it a try.

All you need for this treatment is a bottle of apple cider vinegar, cotton balls, and Band-Aid or tape. Simply dip the cotton ball in the vinegar then place it over the wart. Use a Band-Aid or tape to hold the cotton ball in place. Instead of a cotton ball you could also use make-up sponges or the head of q-tips. Duct tape can also be used in the place of Band-aids. Apple cider vinegar has an extremely unpleasant smell so I chose to do this over night. I simply put it on before bed and left it on during the night then washed my hands in the morning to get rid of the smell.

After a few nights the wart began to get dark streaks in it. The wart became very sore. I almost quit at this time since the wart was on my hands and it was painful when things brushed up against it. But since something was happening I decided to keep trying for a few more nights.

After about a week the wart began to crack and come apart. Finally at the end of two weeks the wart was gone. Since this worked so well on the small wart I decided to try this on some larger warts I had on my hands. So far the apple cider vinegar has worked on all the warts I have tried it on. With the larger warts this did take a few weeks for them to completely disappear and did leave a small scar. The smaller warts took around two week and did not leave a scar. If left on all day and night instead of just at night this will speed up the time it takes for them to disappear.

While this was process was a little uncomfortable and at times painfully and very smelly but I feel the benefit were worth it. This is the cheapest and most successful treatment I have found for warts. I have read that sanding the warts with an emery board while using the vinegar will speed up the process. I did not do this but next time I plan to try this to see if it will cut down the removal time.
