Busybody, or good Samaritan ?

So, sometimes I've caught myself getting into others' business, but mostly only if provoked. But it brought up a topic I thought I'd ask for opinions on.

Let's say, your fishing buddy's son has Crohn's disease and you have a great article by a respected MD on how people have beaten it. So, maybe you might say to them, "hey, here's an article I saw" and you give them the article, and that's the end of it. You are not inclined to follow up, only provide the article, as a friend might. But compare that to, where someone closer to you, like your own daughter or aunt has Crohn's disease, and you give her the article, and she ignores it, la la la.

In the case of the fishing buddy, it is easy to just be friendly and provide an article once and be done with it. But with your aunt or daughter, you love them more and have urges to follow up. Should you just do the same as with the fishing buddy and leave it go at that, or, is it ever right to repeat your message to the loved one ? Assume the article contents really really work, like 80% of the time.

It seems like a contradiction to me. On one hand we are taught to Love thy Neighbor, and be a Good Samaratan, but on the other hand, this lady makes some very good points in the short article below.

So, where does that put a person ? I don't know if there's a right or wrong answer here, this isn't a contest :) Any input appreciated on how to balance these concepts. The answer I keep getting is to ask myself "Is this really God's plan for me, to undertake what I'm doing ?" Like, if you feel inclined to help people, where is the point where one should stop ? There's a lot of people out there who don't seem to care about their neighbor at all, and lots of us know that we are not like them, we are a bit more empathetic and compassionate. At the same time, we also don't want to be seen as a meddler.
