Re: RA - What worked best for you?

RA is pretty simple and compiles of two elements.
1/ Degradation of areas of the nervous system in various areas of the body which controls nervous system function both influencing how and if the immune system deals with abnormal/infected cells and activating and suppressing immune system function as needed.
2/ An infection of the digestive system, mostly the stomach except for where it spreads to the duodenum and in some cases slightly further into the small intestine, that causes Increased Digestive Permeability Syndrome which allows incompletely digested food molecules to enter the blood stream where the immune system creates antibodies. The antibodies promote an immune system reaction where immune system control is weakened see 1/.

Therefore the cure is to restore normal Digestive Permeability and possibly but less immediately important and more difficult to do, to restore the nervous system back to how it used to be when younger. Do not waste time on supplements which claim to restore "Leaky Gut" a term I dislike because they cannot work because they do not resolve the infection causing it.

Also stop taking MSM!!!! That will destroy her health. It can cause some serious problems with copper metabolism ie eliminating copper, ageing the body and creating circulatory disease. Copper is essential for collagen production I fell for all the bullshit about it and it caused me no end of damage. I stopped using it and things are beginning to return to normal function. MSM is not needed by the body, it is sulphur Amino Acids which are required, particularly L-Cysteine, some use N-Acetyl-Cysteine but that can cause some effect against the biofilms of the stomach. Glycine is also helpful, it's great for skin too but can raise GABA levels so it can cause sleepiness depending upon the amount consumed. Glutamic Acid/L-Glutamine is also needed for Glutathione production along with Cysteine and Glycine.

Something which can also be helpful is Boron. Taken in higher than average dosages, up to a maximum upper limit of 20mg is considered safe. It is present in small doses in the diet but soil levels determine the amount. If food is grown in poor quality boron deficient soil then the boron levels will be low which they are in some countries. Boron does affect hormone levels.
