Cheilitis and Vitamin B

So..I've been suffering with very very dry, peeling and RED lips for a long time, and angular cheilitis too, white lips when wet, yellow scabs when left alone and so on...since I took a double dose of vit B my situation has improved let's say 90%, Ican say for sure that healthy Diet (gluten milk free and especially no sugar) plus B complex helped me, but I was wondering: I've read everywhere that angular cheilitis is extremely hard to cure especially if infected by candida or other bacterias, how is it possible that my situation has improved without the help of any anti-fungal or any cream??? Could it be not fungal related? At the moment they don't even get white when wet and peeling is almost gone, even when I cheat (I tried eating gluten, biscuits and even a piece of cake once in a while and looks like my lips are holding on). That mean that my body is strong enough to fight that? As I said before my condition started 8 years ago apparently out of nowhere and it wasn't accompained by any other symptoms, although I developed stomach issues years later, but mainly becouse of the devastating psicological effect of my lips when in public which lead me to totally lose my confidence and self esteem.

Actually the still get red sometimes when I'm outside, like if they've lost their original protection after years of peeling ( last week I was at the pyramids and staying there in the open air and under the sun made them red again, althought no peeling and no cuts occurred).

What do you think people??? Thanks, Luca.
