Cipro Poisoning

My 15 year old son was given Cipro for an upper respiratory infection about 7 months ago. Two weeks after finishing it, purple spots started appearing all over his body. He also started having severe joint pain in his knees and feet. I took him to the doctor and was told he had HSP, which is pediatric vasculitis. I researched HSP and found that Cipro can induce it. Although, my son's doctor will not agree with me on that (big surprise!). After 7 months, he continues to have sever joint pain, redness and swelling to his feet and just recently began to get some of the purple spots on his hands along with joint pain to them. Has anyone else had this happen to their child from taking Cipro. I have taken him to a pediatric rheumatologist and several other doctors. All they will tell me is that it will resolve on its own. He has not been able to attend school since it all started 7 months ago, and I am having to home school him. He can't stand or walk for longer than about 10 minutes before the swelling, redness and pain to his feet and knees becomes unbearable. I will do anything to try and help him. I just don't know what to do anymore and the doctor's are no help. Please give me some advice on what to do.
