New symptom: light sensitivity / eye pain

Hello folks,

For the past few days I've noticed a rather concerning symptom that appears to be new: sensitivity to light resulting in pain in my right eye.

I initially noticed this sensation on Saturday morning, upon opening the curtains after waking. Despite being cloudy, the light filled the room and made me recoil slightly. I didn't really think anything of it, but when I went outside for a walk, noticed that the light seemed bright, and it caused some pain in my right eye.

It was a similar story on Sunday, however the bright sunshine and clear blue sky made it all the more challenging.

I tried to avoid using the computer over the weekend to rest my eyes, and went to bed at 10:30pm to ensure plenty of rest. However this morning, at the office, my right eye is still painful and sensitive to light - I think I may even have to reduce the brightness on my computer monitor.

Any thoughts or suggestions what this could be?

Thanks,
J
