As for those old stones, I do believe that the greenies are freshly formed stones and that they lay on top of the old ones, so logically they are suppose to come out first. Another thing I've noticed is that big or unusual stones tend to appear in the middle of a day or even in a evening after the flush, so keep examining your sieve.
One more note, you may have no calcified stones at all, far not everybody has them.
