Re: 3rd flush, dye test, flax seed

Good to hear so much detail. Just a note about the
beet juice. I was wondering if you saw beet coloring anywhere, or did the color disappear during digestion?
I wonder if anyone has a better suggestion for a coloring agent to use--something that will certainly not be 'erased' by digestion.

The other thing is, I think if you try this again the thing to do would be to add the juice to the oil mixture before you shake it. It's very hard to get oil to take on coloring since it doesn't mix well with liquids, so adding the color as a chaser probably wouldn't have much chance of coloring the oil, when I used red dye in my failed dye test, the oil never quite took on the red color--I could see this by allowing the juice and oil to separate by waiting. The juice turned red, but the oil just turned a faint orange.

Like all supposedly simple ideas, the dye test. is more complex than it looks at first. But nice try, anyway.

Unrelated fact: my high-toned medical texbook (a two-volume intensive guide for internists) says that on autopsy, 20% of all women have Gallstones in the gallbladder, but that the figure is much lower for men. They don't know why women are more affected, though it is clear that birth control pills and overweight make them tend to appear earlier in life. Few people are affected by symptoms before middle age. Only 20% of Gallstones ever cause symptoms, the book reports. The same data appears in a medical encyclopedia I own.
