Colonoscopy Prep Cured Chronic Constipation

hello, I was suffering from chronic constipation for almost a year. I am a male age 70.I also had difficulty with passing stools even though I eat high fiber and take Metamucil daily. Since I have diverticulosis the doctor scheduled a colonoscopy. That test was basically normal but the amazing thing is that it cured my constipation and restored my normal bowel habits. I can only assume this was due to the cleansing effect of the colonoscopy prep. I wanted to report this and ask if this kind of thorough bowel cleansing has helped others.
