Exfoliative Cheilitis Questions
Hi, I’ve had exfoliate cheilitis for about 4 years now originally due to accutane. I’ve seen several dermatologists and even an expert doctor in dental and over the years they’ve had me try several steroids and other treatments that never worked. I’ve also tried brushing with salt and that didn’t seem to help, so I recently found your videos and I’m now starting to do a specific diet (chicken, eggs, broccoli, carrots, apples, grapes, pears and water) to see if it’s a food related allergy.
I’m curious, does the reaction occur due to the allergen coming in contact with the lips, or is it the digestion that causes it? And how long does it take for it to cause the reaction? I’m wondering because I notice when I eat things like a sandwich with bread and it touches my lips, my lips usually dry up really fast when I’m eating, and by the time I’m finished the skin looks more dry and peeling. I’m also wondering if you’re a doctor or what’s your background for having so much knowledge in this topic? Thanks so much.
