Facial Seborrheic Dermatitis Has Improved Alot

Hey Gang,

I have what I believe is Seborrheic Dermatitis on my face. It seems like everyone has a different case so I am going to describe mine a bit in the first section, the second section will be what has helped.

I got some Acne and oily skin around puberty and sometime in high school is when i got the actual scaliness of the dermatitis. I am 29 now. Hits around my eyebrows, my nose, and pretty good around my mouth. It comes back after water on my face, from shower/swimming. It goes away after I moisturize, unfortunately every mosturizer seems to make me break out. The question is what moisturizer makes me break out the least. One moisturizer even had me break out in hives. I have to deal with Seborrheic Dermatitis every single day. Seems some people just have outbreaks, but I have never had a day without it since it started.

Same time around puberty I started having digestion problems that led to severe stomach cramps and explosive diarrhea. I am pretty sure there is a direct connection between my stomach issues and my skin issues, not proven though. I had been diagnosed with IBS (no cure of course) but I do take a pill (dicyclomine) which seems to help the cramps, not sure if it does anything for the dermatits.

So now I will go into what helps my condition. I will not list all the things that I tried and did not help. I cant remember everything and quite frankly I have tried alot.

Washing my face with unrefined Sea Salt has helped alot. If you are anything like me DO NOT use soap at all!!! Even just water is better than soap. I put the Sea Salt on face, leave it on for the shower and rinse it off at the end.

Vitamin E 800iu has definitely helped. I dont believe there is any safety concern with Vitamin E except i would avoid the synthetic vitamin E. Stick to the natural.

Multi Vitamin helps a bit.

And lastly I take a aloe vera supplement. Seems to add alot of natural color back to my skin, takes alot of that redness away. It is for digestion but seems to connect to my skin as well.

-Side note, any cream I have received from the dermatologist has only hurt my skin. I strongly suggest for any sort of dermatitis or Acne problem to try natural remedies. I believe ointments and creams that I originally used for Acne before dermatitis has something to do with my dermatitis. Not proven, just a belief.

Welp I sure hope this can help somebody. My facial dermatitis is at least 75% better today than it was over 10 years ago when this started.
