New C5050 arrived today.
Bought it on Amazon.
The company that sent it was very fast.
Annoying to have to turn off all the noises...
Unbelievable...every time you click the shutter
you get this noise, and turning it on is a drag...
A real production. There is no cord.

I dropped the other C5050 and the part that
holds the batteries in broke. It is a real
drag to attempt to keep it duck taped. Called
Olympus. They have great Tech Support. They
say it can be fixed, but how long would it take?
They emailed me the paperwork. I have to sleep on
that...should I send it in before the March 7 deadline?
Last time I turned it in for repair, it took wseks
and weeks.

I also want a professional Flash.
The new one is an FL 20...
Going shopping for that now.

Shopping for a backup Olympus 5050.
I love this camera.
I get really good pictures.

I am prepping for the OTA Reception.
I am feeling a desire to have a back up camera.
Lots of pressure on that night.

Am I being extravagant?

It has taken me years to learn some of the in and outs of this camera.
I would rather have a back up of the model I already know.

I would enjoy a larger LCD screen.

Olympus Tech support,
always excellent tells me
equivalent models are
E-series--330--
$999.00
e 500--799.00

I originally brought this one on Ebay for
$600.00

By the way, I tried to get some equipment
on Ebay recently, as advised here.

Ending up, buying a camera case
that was never shipped. Glad I only invested
$20.00. Never did follow up on that.

More inclined to Trust Amazon right now...
The cost of a back up C5050 is around $249.00.
There was one for $199.00 a few months ago.

HotFlash?

The TTL hot shoe allows the easy attachment of external and more powerful speedlights like the Olympus FL-40. When using the FL-40, the C-5050 Zoom operates in full TTL mode and controls the flash's motorized zoom head. It also uses its longer range focus assist illuminator.
