Day 17: I quit using apple cider vinegar for my first long term oil swishing experiment 17 days ago to see what oil pulling alone would do for my health. I don't know if it is oil pulling that caused a detoxifying effect on my body or not but I awoke this morning at 2 AM with a strong desire to vomit. Although I was not able to vomit, I felt the strong acid taste of bile in my throat when I tried to vomit. This is a feeling I have not had in at least 2 years since starting to use daily apple cider vinegar. I decided to break my fast of not using apple cider vinegar for this oil swishing experiment. I mixed up a cup of juice with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, a dash of turmeric, and a dash of cayenne.

It is worth noting that the stomach acid came on a day when I ate poorly and did not brush my teeth after swishing. I also did not have access to sea salt for rinsing after I swished with the cold pressed virgin olive oil. I swished in the afternoon unlike other days and was away from my toothbrush. I guess I could have purchased one but did not. Perhaps the toxins I pulled caused my stomach indegestion? In any case, my apple cider vinegar mix calmed my stomach down.
My experiment with oil pulling with olive oil and no other healing modalities ends today.
In the morning, I will continue to oil swish with one tablespoon of olive oil for 20 minutes each day. I see oil swishing with olive oil as beneficial on many levels. My oral health being my primary reason for continuing it and and an overall improvement in my physical and mental health as secondary reasons for pulling. I have noticed a decrease in brain fog that is significant. I have also noticed an improved amount of moisture in my eyes. There also appears to be some unmeasureable but noticeable amount of heightened awareness of thing's spiritual. Perhaps not having the ability to speak for 20 minutes a day forces me into a meditative state?
I will return to rinsing my mouth with Himalayan Unrefined Pink Sea Salt in the morning, after I oil swish. I will not oil swish on any future days when if I am not able to oil swish, rinse my mouth with sea salt, and brush my teeth.
I will resume daily use of drinking 1-2 tablespoons of raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar with a dash of cinnamon, turmeric, and cayenne each day.
I will supplement my acv mix with a drop or two of wild oregano oil if I feel mucous coming on.
I will report any positive or negative effects of this combination but as of right now, my tummy really appreciated the acv and is now calm again. I am going back to bed.
Note: I know I made mistakes in my 30 day experiment- oil swishing protocol- yesterday and will not blame my indigestion crisis on oil pulling alone. That said, I am not willing to continue oil pulling without apple cide vinegar because of the fantastic good health I have had since I first started using apple cider vinegar almost 2 years ago. I have not had a return of allergies two years. I believe the acv, cayenne, and turmeric also quickly dispatched any colds or flu that tried to attack me during those 2 years. I also believe acv has been a wonderful digestion aid and improved my overall health considerably.
I will begin again in the morning again with my new protocol.
