Life is what we make it or should we say what it makes of us...
(My Unusual Road of Life....)

Life is what we make it or should we say what it makes of us... by kerminator .....

Life is a trip, but you do have to keep your eyes open and listen for sirens..... At least once in a while!!

Friends the road of life is certainly difficult but totally necessary, we must learn to cope....

There have been many unusual happenings in my life and / or else that have been related to me by highly reliable source(s)..  So review past blog chapters and stay tuned for some of the most wonderful experiences you have ever heard...

Dropping back to my high school years,  after i got my first car[ a '51 DeStoto] ya some of you will say what was that???  Well i said the same thing when my step father dropped on me on rainy night...  It did not last too long, and had to swap it for a '49 Dodge, four door, flat head six, with fluid drive....  The description is for you cars buffs, who really what to know such...  It ran good, no real powerhouse, but it carried my younger brother and i away from Charlie, our weird step father... In other words freedom....

Well as we had mentioned before, work after {and during if it were possible} school, was the name of the game here.... But of course not realizing it at the time, it helped build my Independence and was part of God's;  which built my work ethic and allowed me to get away from a more destructive {step father} element in my life...

Up until that time i spent many hours [for years] after work, Saturdays, evenings etc in bars, taverns, honky tonks... With both my natural father and Charlie.... So by the time i joined the Navy, and someone said to me, you don't ever go out bar hopping, so how do you know what happens there ??? I replied certainly "that  if you spent the next ten years in bars, then you could come close to beating my record of attendance there..."    Could count on one hand the number of times i have been in one since...

Well i learned to drive on US19 a nice four lane, in fact most of the streets in St Pete were four lane and straight and level...  There after work i learned the nuances of driving in the rat pack, i named it... heavy traffic!!  So i did pretty well, over all driving..  i did take Drivers ED in high school...   This eeks me, there are some things that should be taught in high school, Drivers Ed, Logic {which is part of common sense}, Basic sex Ed. and Firearm safety..... That is my idea any way...

Had my mishaps but they were minor... The worse {was working my guardian angel over time} was when Charlie made me take his new Chevy on Prom nite [ He was not all bad...] and i not being used to power steering and breaks lost control on a wet street and ended up skidding out over Joe's Creek, on 28th Street in St Pete...  Had to get a tow truck to come pull it back from the revine... the front wheels had hung over the concrete ledge...  That was my first encounter with the Fla Hi way Patrol... He was a nice guy...

The only accident i have ever been in {have been driving over forty years} happened just after graduation from high school.... Probably have close to a million miles windshield time by now....  Any way one afternoon some igmo hit me in the right rear just behind the rear wheel well...  i was crossing the wet brick street, which is slicker than hog snot...  Ya they still have some brick streets down there, noisy and dangerous when wet....   Ended up having to come up with $400 to fix the igmos car, just banged my out with a rubber hammer...  Then lost my license, due the FL Financial Responsibility Law, but since i was going into the Navy, who needs a drivers license on the ocean....  So it was suspended for three years...  {By the way got a government international drivers license at my first duty station Key West FL}  Ya i know now i was really being looked out for....

That is enough for you all to hear for now ...  Stay tuned for more adventures...
