(Plant Your Dream!)

Stehly Fruits are a Hit @ World Environment Day Tecate!!! by YourEnchantedGardener .....

It was a great honor introducing locally grown organic ripe fruits to the children and parents at World Environment Day. We gave away six boxes of fruit given us by Noel Stehly, San Diego third generation farmer.

Fruit Wonderment! It must have felt like Halloween to this
Tecate Child who received locally, grown organic fruits
at a World Environment Day Fair in Tecate, Baja, Mexico,
June 2. The Enchanted Garden was one of five U.S. Participants.
Paris Bingo and I went down to serve.

6:30 AM in the morning,
June 1, 07. Noel Stehly,
third generation San Diego farmer,
growing locally and organically,
dropped off six boxes of his fresh
fruits. We took them with us
to World Environment Day sponsored
by the Fundacion La Puerta. There
were more than 5000 who attended.
Many kids and parents enjoyed the
fresh fruits. Noel and his two dogs
travel everywhere together.

Our display at World Environment Day, June 2,
Tecate, Baja, Mexico. We gave away six boxes
of locally grown organic fruits from Noel Stehly.

We handed out three boxes of locally grown organic
Valencia oranges and juice Ruby Grapefruit at
the Enchanted Garden Installation in World Environment Day
in Tecate, June 2.

Noel Stehly was about to have his second baby,
and he really extended himself to deliver the fruit here
on the morning I left.

He lives not far away from the Enchanted Garden Intentional
Community. We are located near San Diego State University.

His farm is about 60 miles away and he travels
back and forth almost daily.

The fruit sells for more than $1.50 a lb at our local
Whole Foods Market Hillcrest in the Local Section.

It is some of the tastiest fruit I have had.
I do not eat much citrus because of a pain tendency
in my muscles and joints, but ate Noels fruit.

It was delicious, especially since it was picked ripe!!!

Dr. Bernard Jensen did not recommend citrus for those
with arthitis or tendencies in that direction.

He would recommend that the orange be Super Ripe,
and opened in pieces. He did not go with orange juice.

He believed in the whole fruit. There are uses
for the rinds when they are organic.

He would say that oranges are high in Sodium when picked
ripe. He said that the Sun was a Sodium Star.

When Citrus is picked too early, it causes problems in the problem.
Most fruit is picked ripe to meet commercial distribution needs.

Many who tasted this food that we gave away freely were very grateful.

I had a sign with me that translated Local Grown and Organic.
Grown in San Diego. A gift from Noel Stehly.

More than 5000 came to the Environment Fair sponsored by
the Fundacion La Puerta.

Some already had heard of organic food, but many were introduced
to the idea for the first time.

I had a large Locally Grown sign with me that I had used
at the San Diego Earth Fair, April 22. Toward the end of the day,
the sign was on the table where I was cutting up the fruit for samples
and then giving away the whole fruits.

People signed their names on the sign as they received a fruit.

There is a statue of St Francis at Rancho Tres Estrellas,
where Paris and I were staying. We have been reciting the St. Francis
Prayer as it is called.

I was feeling in the spirit of St. Francis, giving away something
very valuable, an introduction to locally grown organic food.

Noel Stehly's lovely fresh fruits are available at our Whole Foods Market
Hillcrest in the Locally Grown section outside.

He also ships all across the country and you may be able to get his
fresh fruits at your local Whole Foods Market.

He is a wonderful, generous man, and it is an honor to tell you about
his wonderful fruits.

I want to thank my friends at Whole Foods Market, Southern Pacific Region
for helping to underwrite my expenses for the trip.

Paris and I were basically giving away everything, including
Job's Tear seeds.

The Job's Tear seeds can be used to make necklaces.
They are the original Love Beads of the 60's.

I planted some more in my garden last night, and need to tend our crop.

Numbers have been ordered lately.
I am behind in sending them out.

Ren ordered some.

Much Thanks!

This is the sign I had on the table where we were giving
out the locally grown organic fruits. Toward the middle of the day,
I began asking those receiving the fruit to sign a thank you on
this sign that I originally used at the San Diego Earth Fair, April 22, 07.
