Astrology for October
(Plant Your Dream!)

Astrology for October by YourEnchantedGardener .....

jim shawvan's astrological predictions, october 2006:

Date:   10/6/2006 5:32:19 AM ( 18 y ago)

from the Grapevine,
San Diego, and the link below:

The Mercury Retrograde of October and November 2006

Mercury enters its subsequent Front-end Shadow on October 9, 2006. It enters the Front-end Storm on October 23, and makes its retrograde station on October 28. It leaves the Front-end Storm on November 2, and continues retrograde, conjoining the Sun on November 8. Still moving retrograde, it enters the Back-end Storm on November 14, then makes its direct station on November 17. It leaves the Back-end Storm on November 22, and finally leaves the Back-end Shadow on December 4, 2006.

4. JIM SHAWVAN'S ASTROLOGICAL PREDICTIONS, OCTOBER 2006:

This month's bonus article is a MUST-READ. In spite of its title, it
is about much more than investments, and it covers all the bases.
The author, Clive Maund, is cynical and smart, and he doesn't miss a
trick.
http://www.safehaven.com/article-5986.htm

Several aspects are active throughout the entire month of October:
Sun conjunct Mars * Sun conjunct Venus * Saturn opposite Neptune *
Jupiter square Saturn ***
Other aspects this month include: Jupiter square Neptune * Sun
quincunx Uranus * Venus quincunx Uranus * Mercury square Neptune *
Venus conjunct Mars * Mercury conjunct Jupiter * Mercury square
Saturn ***
Also, Mercury goes retrograde on the 28th.

Saturn remains in opposition to Neptune throughout October,
continuing this long-drawn-out duel between reality (Saturn) and
fantasy (Neptune). It is harder than usual to think clearly now,
even - maybe especially - for those who consider themselves to be
the most rational of human beings. Jupiter, the Lord of Money and
Success, remains square to Saturn throughout the month, and in
square to Neptune until the 27th. This means that economic issues
are caught between Iraq and a hard place. With the exception of the
most pessimistic thinkers, nobody seems to know what to expect
economically in the near future. It would benefit us all to listen
to Cassandra for a change, and stop placing bets on all those long
shots.

The Sun makes its exact quincunx (150 degrees) to Uranus on the 4th,
and Venus makes its quincunx to Uranus on the 9th. These aspects
will trigger upsets and surprises for those individuals who have
important points in their natal charts at the degrees where these
quincunxes occur. Fortunately, the upsets that Uranus brings are
usually more beneficial than harmful in the long run - but they do
require a period of adjustment!

The Sun and Mars move in tandem all month, so one can hardly deal
with any interpersonal issue without running into overdoses of
assertiveness - also known as aggressiveness. Both Sun and Mars are
uncomfortable in the sign of Libra, which wants them to be polite
and tactful and concerned with the opinions of others. Fat chance!
Under the Mars-Sun influence, we may do and say things that seem
superficially diplomatic but which can easily be spotted as
manipulative and selfish. Mars and the Sun both enter the Mars-ruled
sign of Scorpio on the 23rd, just 3 hours apart. This would be like
taking the top off the pressure cooker, except that Scorpio is even
more concerned than Libra with controlling other people's
perceptions of themselves. The Libra method of control may be
uncharitably characterized as B.S., whereas the Scorpio method is to
say nothing and reveal nothing. Unfortunately, some people are going
to lose it either way, and we will see still more violent headlines.

While Mars runs just ahead of the Sun until the 23rd, Venus runs
just behind the Sun until the 27th. Venus will steer the discourse
in the direction of niceness to the best of its ability - and, being
at home in Libra, Venus has great ability there. Once Venus enters
Scorpio on the 24th, it is on Mars' native turf, and the whole game
changes. Now it's time to call a spade a shovel for a change.

Venus and Mars are conjunct from the 13th to the end of the month
and beyond. This feels like a sexy aspect, but it also has a
quarrelsome edge, even in some cases a violent edge. Avoid going
home with the stranger whom you have just met in the bar.

As Mercury moves through the Fixed Sign of Scorpio it gets involved
with the ongoing T-cross of Neptune, Jupiter, and Saturn, which was
discussed at the beginning of this article. Mercury's nature is to
be busy and communicative, but its square to Neptune from the 9th to
the end of the month makes it incapable of clarity. (See Mercury.
See Mercury get tongue-tied. See Mercury lose it.) From the 13th,
Mercury, anciently known as the Lord of Merchants and Thieves, is
involved with Jupiter (expansion) and Saturn (contraction) as well.
Mercury is used to doing multiple things at once, but doing
diametrically opposed things at the same time is a challenge even
for the Cosmic Trickster! Do not expect to get clear information on
much of anything about the economy at this time.

Mercury enters the Shadow of the upcoming retrograde on the 9th, and
enters the Storm (its slow period) on the 23rd. The Storm is when
things get weird - communications, computers, and decision-making
are all affected. Add this to the ongoing problems mentioned above,
and trying to get information you need to make decisions becomes
like trying to catch a moth in a dark room. On the 28th, Mercury
actually makes its Retrograde Station - i.e., it starts the period
of apparent backward motion which will only end on November 17th. If
you would like more information on Mercury Retrograde, see the
article at
http://www.jshawvan.homestead.com/mercrx2006.html

Lack of clarity is very much the dominant issue now. In order to
have any hope of thinking clearly, we need to focus our minds. The
following familiar meditation can help to put us in touch with
lovingkindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity. Once we
get to equanimity, we can wait for the necessary information to come
in before we are tempted to act.

The Four Immeasurables:

May all living beings have happiness and the causes of happiness.
May all living beings be free from suffering and the causes of
suffering.
May all living beings always rejoice in the happiness of others.
May all living beings abide in equanimity, free from attachment and
aversion.
