Quicken record keeping
(Plant Your Dream!)

Quicken record keeping by YourEnchantedGardener .....

I see a way to improve my financial record keeping.

Date:   2/17/2006 10:34:43 AM ( 18 y ago)

Oh, I see!
I can create more and more accounts
where I can instantly see the balance
for sales....and costs for The Love Cures.

That would be good, and simplify things.

Working with the money numbers always has
stressed me and help back my progress.

Now I see, I can learn to run a report
leaving out the transfers, and enter amounts.

Experiment with this Leslie!
It will make a difference.
Come alive in Left Brain structures.

Oh, Spirit, I could use a financial advisor
to work through some of these details..

is there anyone on the internet who can support
what I need so I do not get so anxious when
I get stuck with the money numbers?

Filtering Reports with Classes

Reports can provide an overview, a segment of relevant data, or a minute part, all with categories, subcategories, classes, and subclasses. To quickly and easily customize almost any Quicken report so that it displays only those transactions belonging to a certain class or subclass, follow these steps:

1. Select your report from the Reports menu.

2. Click Customize either in the upper-left corner of the report window or along the lower edge of the Report Creator dialog box.

3. In the left-hand box titled Select to Include, click Classes.

4. (Optional) To deselect all classes, click Clear All. To reselect them, click Mark All.
5. Select the classes you want to include by clicking beside each on the left-hand side of the Class list. Quicken places an arrow beside those that will be included. This works on a toggle system, so just click once more to deselect each class.

6. (Optional) You can't use the Class list to specify subclasses. Instead, select the parent class and then type the subclass into the right-hand section of the dialog box under Class Contains. Alternatively, click the down arrow and select the class from the list. Specify further subclasses using the colon (:) separator, for example: class:subclass.

7. Click Create to generate the report.

In this lesson, you learned about using classes and subclasses. In the next lesson, you will find out how you can use Quicken to track your debtors.
