Last night It was pointed out to me that
my left rear tire was low on going flat and that
that at high speed that tire could easily cause a blow out.
"Discount Tire Company" will fix that for free, I was told.
I heard as well that this company had stores all over the place.
This morning, I figured it was time to fix that slow leak
that has been ongoing for a number of months.
I did not know where there was a Discount Tire Company,
but I headed down to a tire store where I had bought
some tires years ago.
It was localed at the corner ofFederal and College in San Diego.
I was surprised to find that it was a Discount TIre store.
Ken Brandel, the service man, came out and checked my tires.
"You don't drive very much," he said, presumably because
my tires were in such good shape.
He said it would be about 45 minutes to fix.
After he checked in my car, I realized that I had walked out of the
house without my fanny pack containing all my credit cards.
Ken said, "Well, I your pretty lucky, then because fixing a tire
is free."
TJ, the man who repaired the tire, found a small piece of metal
in the shape of a nail. He pulled it out and then went about
repairing the tire with the lastest of equipment. he was very
effiicient, and yet the job took no less than 20 minutes.
Then he rebalanced the tire and I was ready to go.
I was very impressed with this free service, and will be sure
to go back there for tires when I need them.
