Dear Leslie Goldman,
This has been the most successful year for the Green Restaurant Association yet. With an increased staff and expanded Database of Environmental Solutions, the GRA implemented hundreds of environmental steps and doubled its restaurant base. Starting in January, the GRA will double its restaurant base again. The environmental problems are plastering the front pages of New York Times, CNN, and Fox News. Global warming is unfortunately not being refuted and instead is becoming more apparent. The restaurant industry is the #1 consumer of retail electricity in the US, thus contributing to unstainable energy consumption and global warming. The Green Restaurant Association is a leader, starting in 1990, way ahead of its time. Lauded by The EPA, Environmental Defense, and some of America's top restaurateurs, the GRA has been and is a leader in solutions-based systemic change. This year, the GRA will host a Green RestaurantsTProducts Pavilion at the National Restaurant Show, which will include a speech at the show.
We have arrived, and the restaurant industry is changing slowly for the better. You will be hard pressed to find an organization with the integrity, fiscal responsibility, and results-orientation of the Green Restaurant Association. If you believe global warming, mercury in mother's milk, and dirty energy consumption are real and unprecedented threats to humanity, then invest generously in a solution that is literally replacing unstainable actions in businesses across America with real sustainable solutions that serve as a model to be copied by restaurants around the world.
