My Essene Rat Story.

Getting giddy and about to go to sleep.
Wanted to share this little story with you.
Many years ago, while I was writing full time
on the Essenes, I lived in a little part of the house here
that felt like Thoreau's garret where he too wrote.
I was working on putting together writings for
Confessions of an Essene Visionary
and a newsletter that I thought to call the PIT Stop.
Pit was for Prophets in Training.
I was working with channelings from the Essene School of Thought
transcribed from teachings by John, Son of Zebedee.

That John is the John that was first named on the Cover of the Essene Gospel
of Peace. It was called originally the Essene Gospel of John.
That is also, I sense in part, the intelligence that came through Edgar Cayce
when he went into trance.
I have reems of those transcriptions that have never seen the light of day.
One day, deep in thought,
I looked over on my futon on the floor.
There was this rat.
He was just sitting there, totally at peace,
totally in harmony.
He would lie on his side.
He would sit up.
He had no fear.
He would wash his face.
This was too much.
I got up from my chair to alert Brian who was downstairs.
By the time I got into the living room,
the rat ran down one of his super highways through the house.
The Essene Rat followed me into the living room!!!!
Brian was a bit less esoteric than I, and leaned at that time
in his life toward the mechanical as well as being a tremendous
arborist.
He got a paper bag.
He put it down on the floor.
The enlighted Rat pretty much climbed in the bag.
It was the story of Jesus on the cross all over again.
We did not know what to do with that Essene Rat.
Brian closed up the bag.
He took a jaunt down the street looking for a cat,
but to no avail he could not find one.
That Rat was not long for this world, and had a demise
soon thereafter, I am sorry to say.
Such is fate, when man and rat do not see eye to eye,
wishing you pleasant dreams of good night
in harmony with the wild life in you and out side you.
