The Problem With Public Housing
(My Unusual Road of Life....)

The Problem With Public Housing by kerminator .....

The people who used rentals as a stepping stone to homeownership seemed to be the best renters in my opinion.

Re: The Problem With Public Housing (This was a reply to one of my blogs!)

I'm so tickled to see you come out of your blog box to comment Kerminator.
The man of Dixie has arrived and I welcome your comments with open arms.

As a landlord, I have even seen this mindset in people who rent property from me. People who shared with me their hopes for a home of their own in the future were the ones who took very good care of my property and even improved it with their own money at times.
They had pride in where they lived and gratitude for having a roof over their head and a landlord that would work with them to make their lives comfortable and happy. Giving to each other is what made for a wonderful personal experience for both parties involved.

However, most landlords want people who agree to stay in the property for very long periods of time, so they don't have to redo everything so often, each time someone moves out.

The people who used rentals as a stepping stone to homeownership seemed to be the best renters in my opinion. Those with an entitlement mentality seemed to do the most destruction and did not seem to understand when something was their responsibility to repair...if they did the damage.

It's a give/give situation that works....not a give/take on either side.
