The hip is a necessary part of the human body. Even though the human body only has two, those two bones are key players for certain functions. The hips hold the pelvis together as one. The hips serve as the range of motion function. We are able to walk, run, climb, and other movements humans can do. However, what will happen, something goes wrong and pain is now involved. Here a several ways to treat hip pain.

Research

Stem cell treatment for hips is a fairly new procedure that the patients have to pay out of pocket because insurance companies don’t pay for it. The patient’s hip has to be severe damage and can’t function properly. This procedure will not work overnight, it will take at least multiple doctor visits to see results. “Most people experience improved function and relief from pain after two to six weeks”. This is an injection procedure that will help the cells to recover. Once the stem cells enter the patient's body, the stem cells will immediately get to work.

Herbal Versus Non-Herbal

Herbal Medication is the inexpensive route of treating hip pain. There are herbs that can cure and no other procedures will be needed. “Certain herbs may have anti-inflammatory properties that can help with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by reducing pain in all forms of the disease”. Aloe Vera is the most common one because it will calm the pain down. Boswellia is a plant that is located in India, this plant is anti-inflammatory plant that will stop any attacks on the healthy cells in the body. Eucalyptus decrease the swelling and with the use of heating compressor, the discomfort will fade away.

If a patient is not into the herbal route, pharmaceutical medications can be effective as well. Over the counter medications such as Advil, Tylenol, and Aleve work for acute pain. Corticosteroids are a prescribe medication that will get rid of the swelling, but, it is a long term usage. Osteoporosis are used mainly for bone loss. This is when the hip bone has been degenerated and this prescription medication will step into the body to build new ones. Any surgical procedures are only used if anything the doctor prescribed doesn’t work.

Non-surgical

In addition, there are other options as well. Physical therapy is frequently by patients and it can either be short term or long term. Dieting is another way because of too much weight pressure can affect the hip. Exercising is the best way to the hips and there are different type of workouts. Yoga and stretching is the best way for hip pain because the hip bone will start to strengthen again and the range of motion will increase. “The more support the muscles can offer, the less stress and therefore less pain”. Water aerobics or general swimming work also because less force is being placed on the hips.

It all depends on the level of pain for the hips. There is a way to cure the pain. Each procedure will work differently on the individual. With the help of technology, new ways are stepping in to make life better for the patients.
