Eco Art: "Pass It On" Greeting Cards
(EarthSpirit)
A new concept for recycling greeting cards
Date: 2/19/2019 10:23:22 AM ( 5 y ago)
My friend Your Enchanted Gardener* suggested I stop writing greetings inside the cards I make and send to family and friends, leaving the interiors blank; I could write a note on a separate piece of paper and just loosely insert it inside the card. This way, the recipient could keep the note, but then reuse and recycle the card by sending it on to someone else. I liked this idea and started doing it.
Then I thought that it would be great if the card had multiple recycling potential. I thought of making a pocket inside of the card and putting blank pieces of paper inside of it, and a (folded-in-half) mailing envelope or two. That way, the recipient could "pass it on" by writing their own note on one of the pieces of paper, placing it in the pocket with the unused note paper and a mailing envelope, and sending it on to someone else who would hopefully recycle it again! Hence the concept of "Pass It On!" greeting cards was born.
