April - Shorter Autumn Fasts
(Liquid Fast 2016)

April - Shorter Autumn Fasts by exposure .....

Sticking with it - A couple short autumn fasts!

Date:   4/26/2016 5:50:09 AM ( 8 y ago)

It's the 26th of April now,

my last blog entry from memory saw me finishing up a smaller 11 day fast before heading off to retreat in the Blue Mountains - up there I managed to eat very light the first few days, eventually eating a bit more with all the delicious food - it was very carby but healthy wholefoods and I tried to skip stuff and eat more salads and soups - there was a lot of bread though and not an abundance of veggies... anyway, I've been home now for a while, the weather has gotten decidedly colder and I've now got the fireplace going and a few more aches and pains -- I've been doing yoga and bushwalks - keeping up some activity but also getting back into it after a few weeks of a lot of traveling and getting pretty slack on that front with a difficult period that lasted quite a while..

Well - on day 2 of a short 7 day fast before I have to head back to Melbourne and pick up family from the airport - just wanted to shed whatever I gained during the few weeks of going back to eating and eating more with the cold weather - I fell off my diet and calorie counting on retreat and this little fast is going to help - then there will be a couple more normal eating weeks with family visiting from overseas - and after that another short fast followed by eating light and going back to calorie counting. I want to alternate some intermittent fasting with a reducing diet of about 1200 calories on non fast days.. as I progress through autumn... keep shedding -- wish me luck fasters! It's good to keep coming back to this practice more and more - I'm much healthier and lighter on my feet than I was at the beginning of this summer, and this practice really keeps me young!
