A holiday tale from @YourEG Leslie Goldman by YourEnchantedGardener .....
A holiday story written on November 15, two days after Paris .

We live in the world connected, even worlds from this one to the next.
I had a demonstration of that last night in the atmosphere of of more than 30,000 people who gathered to enjoy a homecoming game at San Diego's QUALCOMM Stadium.
I did a lot of napping November 14 I've had to. I put out a lot of energy in the last six months, very much testing my limits and health capacities. I've been taking long naps and not forcing myself to do too much more to do too many things that I don't want to do.
I had in mind that I wanted to go to the local university homecoming game. As the last glimmers of daylight disappeared in the first moments of the dark came, I put on my Dr. Bronner's code of many spiritual and earthly sayings, Loaded up One pocket of individual packets of all one peppermint soap that the hippies have been loving since the early 60s, and headed out on a borderline chilly night to The nearby football arena.
I went to campus the other day especially to see a Spirit rally for homecoming. I befriended a couple of the cheerleaders giving one a sunflower I had in my vehicle that I call the enchanted Garden mobile, 68 VW van that's dedicated to help us win back are sacred seeds.
The cheerleaders and majorettes were gathered at the new student union. In college, during the 60s it was my job as Commissioner of men's athletics to also be head of the rally committee . I had the delightful job of helping to choose the cheerleaders and our mascot .
Unspecial Thursdays during the football season I would create a similar Spirit rallies. One time I remember calling upon the pep band to help me as well as the cheerleaders. We marched through the campus to the cafeteria into the well populated open cafeteria area where we drummed up spirit . This was followed by the playing of a Motown song and inspiring everyone to shift what they might have been doing and dance .
Being that My work-study job for pay was also being the manager of the football team, Numbers of the athletes were my friends and I knew them by name . It was no big deal to call on them to dance and support my lunch time endeavor.
It wasn't as if I hadn't had some history of organizing spirit rallies in my memory bank, and so my familiarity with attending this homecoming week Spirit rally at San Diego State University was something that excited me .
I took some photos for my plant your dream blog. I had my rolling cart with me and my plant your dream paraphernalia that included a part of growing organic non-GMO grass, and some packets of plant your dream seeds.
as soon as the rally ended I singled out to cheerleaders and approach them . I wanted to let them know what a beautiful job they did , so I complemented them . There was also a contingent of dancers called the Astec diamonds , who's delightful body moves were truly extraordinary and reminiscent of my own cheerleader experiences. In my own college days we were mainly a white school , but we had the most remarkable male yell leader from Dorsey high school, a high school with a mixed racial population and Maurice Warfield was among the most creative and spirited black males who I loved as a close friend and Ally on the football field .
Enough reminiscing, but I imagine you get the picture .
So on that bright day of homecoming, wearing my Dr. BRONNER jacket on campus , I called out to the cheerleaders to plant their dreams .
I gave one of them the sunflower. They were handing out we are as Aztec t-shirts and among themselves I could see them passing around some tickets to the game for their close family and guests.
I expressed that I wanted to go to the game and that I did not have a ticket. One of the cheerleaders had a ticket and asked if I wanted it.
Receiving the gift made me very happy, and stop me in my tracks for a moment to take in that act of kindness. It was a ticket for the student section, exactly where I wanted to be.
Fast-forward two days. I'm now at QUALCOMM Stadium. During the season I generally don't like to drive too much after dark, but I knew my way around. Parking is generally $10 however as another act of kindness the parking gate keepers allows free entry to those with handicap Placks. I use one of those.
So where to park? Are there any handicap spots left, I asked another guide once inside the gate.
I was directed where to go, and parked on the slope not far from the stadium entry.
There was a pick up truck in front of me and they had some hot coals going and were at the Tail end of having a meal. I wasn't exactly sure where I was, I asked the man parked in front of me if he knew what area I was in. Did he know the letter?
He was generous of spirit.
He pulled out his cell phone and spoke into it QUALCOMM stadium map.
Then we spent about four minutes figuring out where we were on the map.
I said goodbye and took some steps, but then I remembered I had these Dr. BRONNER peppermint soap samples in my coat and I went back to get him one.
You'll never guess what happened!
He recognized the Dr. Bronner's soap, he told me he knew the Dr. Bronner family.
Then he told me the most remarkable story. He said he used to get that soap when he was a kid from a man named Leon who ran a health food store in downtown San Diego many years before.
I knew Leon. I just shopped in that store decades before.
Then he said that his grandmother, Ruth Hancey, had been partners with Leon.
I knew Ruth Hansey.
She was one of the most persistent and spirit driven women I have ever known in my life, and her spiritual teachings and advice were so severe and sometimes contrary to my own free will, that she drove me to my wits end.
I also loved her, and I owed her.
She had really extended yourself to me, taking time to guide me towards a source of the purest pasture fed lamb, at a time when my body really needed nutrition.
She also introduced me to a little known homeopath. I would travel more than hundred miles to see him.
I met her at a Sunday morning lecture at Dr. Bernard Jensen's hidden Valley health Ranch.
There was no question that she was part of my soul tribe.
She also knew Leon the DeSeblo,
Another little known spiritual giant who helped The Indian master Yogananda design is San Diego Self-realization fellowship temple.
Dr. DeSeblo had seeming mastership over the laws of life and death. he told me the story that when Yogananda decided that it was his time to exit the body, he made sure that Leon DeSeblo was nowhere around. DeSeblo had the ability to bring someone back from the dead, Yogananda believed. Yogananda felt it was his own time to go.
So there we were in the most unlikely of places at the San Diego Aztec Wyoming football game in the parking lot of QUALCOMM Stadium having this spiritual moment.
I imagine Ruth Hansey was reaching across worlds both visible and invisible to let me know how her life ended this time around, where she had lived her last 10 years and the sacred spot where she had had her body buried.
I never consciously communicated with her after 1975. She left your body in 1997, and was buried on sacred land that we both knew.
She was a woman who took care of me at a time when I was lying flat on my back and could not move my legs apart more than a quarter of an inch, I was that stuck with arthritis in my hips.
She made me rice, organic and pure that she delivered me. It arrived in some glass bottles with wax paper under the lid. She was a woman who is meticulous in your health practices, and I sometimes found her advice difficult to swallow.
She had a grandson. She loved him very much and she told me of his destiny. She made sure that from the time he was very little he had those pure homeopathic remedies, and she fed him that same lamb.
And here we were meeting more than 30 years later and hour before kick off.
The eve that I met Robert her grown-up grandson, the people of France were still in terror from the bombings that happened less than 24 hours before. The marching Aztecs were about to take the field as well as the military guard.
Who can say how the story ends.
I merely want to say that in my life a living and those who pass are always with us.
