#Seedstock2015 #AIHM15 #Pacificsymposium2015 wrap-up. #RareSeeds grow @RareSeeds. I like and support Soil Shindig. Although I have been doing an experiment with Soilless at the Enchanted Garden, and I see Soilless as a solution that many are seeking now to grow more food in a time of soil crisis, I hold to my teaching that the Earth and the Soul are Soil Mates. The solution, ultimately, as I see it, will be thousands upon thousands of small scale gardeners and many more local farmers feeding their communities. Soil Shindig is an organic step in the right direction. The Earth Yearns for cooperative living. As we Collaborate, we can influence climate shift. Our very gut bacteria and its health, is in a sympathetic relationship to the soil. -Leslie Goldman Your Enchanted Gardener @PlantYourDreamBlog

MONDAY MORNING THOUGHTS

In this the international Year of Soil, and in this November, the theme being Climate and Soil, I was inspired to attend ‪#‎SoilShindig‬ and get a thermometer reading how soil health awareness in San Diego County.
This four minute video, The Sol Story, made by the Kiss The Ground group, and introduced by Keynote Finian Makepeace-- focused on the potential to create tremendous Climate Shift as we take action steps to put the excess Carbon in the atmosphere, back where it belongs--in the ground. The video also speaks about Carbon Farming and Regenerative Agriculture.
The Regeneration of soil is the task of our generation, the video says.
SEE THAT VIDEO HERE

The video pointed out that the solution is right under our feet.
PROPS TO #SOILSHINDIG COLLABORATORS
All three primary collaborators are to be congratulated for #SoilShindig.
SOIL HEALTH AND HUMAN HEALTH DEPENDS ON SUSTAINABLE & ORGANIC and BEYOND PRACTICES
An important step would be for the vast wisdom of proper soil love so present at Wild Willow Farm and Suzie's Farm to permeate all the community patches at the TRV Community Garden, where some members of the community garden community are not yet up to speed about spraying to kill weeds and kill pests.
There is not an explosion of information coming out about the ill effects of
using Glysophate (Round Up)/
Beginning a campaign to educate and get all the neighbors at the Tijuana River Valley Community Garden aware of alternative healthy methods would be a tremendous outcome from #SoilShindig. The ill effects and loss of fertility in the soil that happens due to these biotech approaches to pest and weed management need to be shared.
It is possible to make peace with nature and her weeds and insect life.
What would such a hands-on edu campaign look like? For sure #SoilShindig was an important step.
For sure it would began with neighbors, in this, the largest Community Garden is San Diego County, getting to know each other and being introduced to the growing practices being used as Suzie's Farm and Wild Willow.
Perhaps the solution would be more gatherings, more eating together, more sharing of ideas about soil health and the full soil story.
Spraying of one plot in a community garden next to a plot where food is being grown without artificial chemicals causes me concern. This is a condition that needs to be outgrown. Lots to think about here.
The seed for such an evolution in thought, and deed, has been planted.
Feedback welcome… FYI Samuel Ramirez Cathryn Henning
