Your Medicine and Your Brain -
(Son of Truth of Self)

Your Medicine and Your Brain - by Chef JeM .....

Statins Cause Brain Dysfunction. Antipsychotic drugs cause brain atrophy! (Maybe you'll need a "brain tonic".)

The human brain is of high interest to me (and I hope it is at least of some interest to you as well). If the health of your brain is of high interest to you then you may like to consider the impact of medications on the brain. What we ingest, not only in "food" but in all other substances, deserves our consideration as to the potential impact on the brain. Consider "statins":
http://blog.drbrownstein.com/statins-cause-brain-dysfunction/

"Statins work by poisoning an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) which is needed to produce cholesterol, adrenal and sex hormones, memory proteins and maintain cell energy. The highest concentration of cholesterol in the body is found in the brain. Can you guess an organ that will suffer when cholesterol production is blocked? If you guessed the brain, you would win the prize. ... It is shocking to me that so many health care providers and nearly all cardiologists would ever prescribe these medications for any patient. Heart disease patients are not developing heart disease due to a statin-deficiency syndrome. Perhaps these health care providers should start doing what doctors were taught to do: Search for the underlying cause of the illness and address that."

Shiftin the focus now with Jon Barron however the following can be related.

I highly recommend reading Jon's article! There's a possibility that it may offer a healthier alternative for many people in alleviating many conditions that have a brain/neurological component (and every disease does have some brain component).

17th - Possibly of greater concern -

"... Antipsychotic drugs, including both older and newer ones, cause shrinkage (atrophy) of the brain in many human brain scan studies and in animal autopsy studies. The newer atypicals especially cause a well-documented metabolic syndrome including elevated blood sugar, diabetes, increased cholesterol, obesity and hypertension. They also produce dangerous cardiac arrhythmias and unexplained sudden death, and they significantly reduce longevity. In addition, they cause all the problems of the older drugs, such as Thorazine and Haldol, including tardive dyskinesia, a largely permanent and sometimes disabling and painful movement disorder caused by brain damage and biochemical disruptions.

(Maybe antipsychotic drugs qualify as a kind of "cruel and unusual punishment"?)

"All classes of psychiatric drugs can cause brain damage and lasting mental dysfunction when used for months or years. Although research data is lacking for a few individual drugs in each class, until proven otherwise it is prudent and safest to assume that the risks of brain damage and permanent mental dysfunction apply to every single psychiatric drug. Furthermore, all classes of psychiatric drugs cause serious and dangerous withdrawal reactions, and again it is prudent and safest to assume that any psychiatric drug can cause withdrawal problems."

"Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play???!!"
