Got Live Aloe Vera Plant/s? by chef jem .....

The very best first-aid treatment for burns that everyone who cooks deserves to have in every kitchen.

Fresh cut Aloe Vera flesh applied to the skin is the very best thing that I know of for treating a burn.

I highly recommend having a live plant in every kitchen.

If a live aloe plant is not possible in your kitchen then at least have a bottle or a tube of aloe vera gel and as close to 100% as you can find.

Although I have known that aloe vera is the best treatment for burns I fortunately have not had to make much of a personally demonstration of that with myself, until yesterday!

I had melted a portion of lard in a pot to prepare some food and when I dumped my container of food into that pot with the hot melted fat it splashed up onto my hand. Ouch! I very soon went to put cold water over my hand. I probably could have let that cold water run on my hand longer than I did. My hand was looking red.

Then I saw a housemate and asked if he had some aloe vera (although I know that we have it growing here). Fortunately he knew of a particular aloe plant here that was superior to the other ones and he cut me a leaf.

I split the leaf open, a section at a time, and applied the flesh side of the leaf directly to my burn. I repeated the application about every 15 minutes over the course of the rest of the evening, right up to bed time, several hours. The redness and the pain diminished more and more every time I applied the aloe vera. By bedtime the redness and the pain was minimal.

Today there is no pain, no blistering and only a trace of the original redness. I remarkable demonstration of the effectiveness of this wonderful plant!

Love your body by having a live aloe vera plant that can be used as a first- aid treatment for burns, that could possibly happen in the kitchen even if you are a "chef".
