GARDEN MANAGEMENT JOURNAL

Snapshot of where I am now

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/Rain_Drops_in_plants_1_Jan_1_Enchanted_Garden.jpg

I want to go out and honor the raindrops on leaves with my camera. I watched part of the movie "Chaplin" late last night. There was not always a smile behind the comedy that he portrayed on screen. Neither is there happiness in this moment inside me. I am grateful for this rare overcast day and nippy weather. Perhaps I can go out under the cloud cover and find a moment of honoring here in the garden and be undisturbed. while I do this.

I do not want to speak to another. I want a silent communion with the plants and ask the elements for their cooperation.

I set up some heirloom seeds in compost and manure as an Altar to honor and encourage the rain.

I sense looking back to yesterday, I had many hours of excited inspiration, but then when I went out to the Farmers' Market in hopes of getting a pat on the back from Goyo for the recent investment of time I have put into the Comeback of the JR Organic CSA to Pacific College, he appeared on a different page.

My experience of community is running thin in this world now.

I went out early this morning to check on the rain. Oh my gosh…I better go out now….more rain is about to fall.

back soon!

Friday at Del Mar. — Gary Robbins

Coastal San Diego received only trace amounts of rain from the weak storm that moved ashore late Thursday night. But there's a chance that more precipitation will fall Sunday night into Monday as a second low pressure drops into Southern California, says the National Weather Service. Both systems will produce several days of cool temperatures for the first time this winter. The daytime high will reach only 62 Saturday in San Diego and 61 on Sunday. Temperatures won't spike above the seasonal high of 65 until the end of next week, at the earliest. Temperatures also will be in the low 60s across the region's foothills and canyons.

Through 6 a.m. Friday, San Diego's Lindbergh Field had received 0.01'' of rain for January, which is normally the second wettest of the year. A bit more rain could fall today. San Diego's January rainfall will likely be as low, or lower, than it was in January 2003, when the airport recorded only 0.02'' of precipitation.

Sample of rainfall from current storm:

Palomar Mountain: 0.76''
Valley Center: 0.31''
Alpine: 0.30''
Escondido: 0.16''
Chula Vista: 0.16''
Ramona: 0.14''
Rancho Bernardo: 0.14''
Carlsbad: 0.09''
Encinitas: 0.08''
Fallbrook: 0.06''
Miramar: 0.03''

THINGS TO DO

Go give my honor to the garden….that is my most honoring friend in this moment.

If I do not have not what I would like in the way of community, at least make the most of what I do have…a window to write on my book, "Grow A Healthier Pizza,"

Put up rain photos…

my community is Facebook…now...
