Nourishing Satiation
(The Whey, The Truth and The Life!)
The importance of real, healthy fats in the diet in order to experience nourishing satiation plus the role of gut bacteria.

Have you ever filled yourself full on food only to be unsatisfied? Although it's been a number of years since I have had that experience I do remember that feeling and how uncomfortable and terribly dissatisfying that was.
One of the things I discovered through many attempts at eating a "politically correct" vegetarian diet (that was a close to vegan as I could possibly stand) was how much my body needed real healthy fats in order for me to feel satiation. I've also learned that my fat of choice is primarily raw, grass-fed butter, butter oil and ghee. I can now very clearly say that a vegan diet absolutely does not work for me (even if you paid me)! The dissatisfaction that I had from deprived satiation was virtually unbearable!
That is just one of many points culminating in my full embrace of Nourishing Traditions and the Weston A. Price Foundation. I am eternally grateful to Sally Fallon Morell!
I also enjoy the fat in whole, grass-fed cream and milk that I turn into kefir.
Tonight I prepared my self a very satisfying meal. I had the same meal the night before and was so impressed with it that I was eager to do it again! I had smoked salmon marinated in kefir, sauerkraut, creme fraiche and butter oil. I had marinated the smoked salmon in my own home made kefir for several days in the refrigerator. I removed that from the frig a couple hours before my meal to allow that to come close to room temperature. I then added a small serving of sea weed mixed into the kefir marinade. I also removed the sauerkraut from the frig to allow that to come to room temp as well. I severed myself the portions I wanted and then added a couple serving spoons of my home-made creme fraiche plus some butter oil.
When I originally got the salmon I did not think about marinading it. It was after I had the salmon a couple days when I was inspired to marinade it in kefir (which I had a full stock of on hand). Now I intend to marinade my future salmon and probably marinade fresh salmon the next time and maybe add shallots or the like to the marinade.
bon appétit!

Gut bacteria plays a role in satiety.:
"The gut microbes are looking after their own interests, chief among them getting enough to eat and regulating the passage of food through their environment. The bacteria themselves appear to help manage these functions by producing signaling chemicals that regulate our appetite, satiety and digestion.":

Several days ago a housemate introduced a lady friend to my goat milk kefir. The lady had an exceptionally wonderful experience with it! She reported top me several benefits. Firstly, she said she drank the kefir first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Then she went the whole day without any other food and without experiencing any hunger! She said she is lactose intolerant but experienced no distress in her digestion! She reported having great energy all day. And last but not least she said that the typical discomforts of her menstrual cycle decreased! Then she bought two quarts from me!
