Presidential Acceptance Speech 2012
(Path of my Life)
Dishonesty and distraction are highlights of Pres. Obama's 2012 acceptance speech.
Date: 11/8/2012 11:06:32 PM ( 12 y ago)
President Obama's 2012 acceptance speech was part "whats to come" rhetoric, part dishonest appraisal and calculated distraction of the shamefull uglyness that exists in America, and that the American military continues to inflict on the world.
Here is a sampling of phrases that Pres. Obama used in his 2012 acceptance speech - Quote:
our destiny
pursue our dreams
great heights of hope
the best is yet to come
I am hopeful tonight because
the task of perfecting our uniion moves forward
we can seize this future together
with your help and God’s grace we will continue our journey forward
obligations to future generations
How nice!! -
Never mind whats wrong here NOW, it will be worth it? I don't think so - America had it's peak, it is all downhill from here. It is a reality that is still deniable, so THIS president won't be telling the nation to prepare for hard times ahead... which is the one thing necessary to avoid the worst, hence ensuring the worst will happen: hitting the wall at full speed.
It is very much like any leader telling their people that they have been committed to war - "we sacrifice now, be courageous, and then when we raise the victory flag you will see that it was worth it". In fact, it is all very Hitleresque, eh? I wonder what the German people felt like in 1945... regrets?, "we should have recognised it as propaganda"? - I have never heard much along those lines from defeated Germans, have you? Why is that? - is it still happening?
One more time - Quote:
our destiny
pursue our dreams
great heights of hope
the best is yet to come
I am hopeful tonight because
the task of perfecting our uniion moves forward
we can seize this future together
with your help and God’s grace we will continue our journey forward
obligations to future generations
Yes, How nice!! -
Ya ya ya, "The future, the future" - stay focused on the future...but that last one about "obligations to future generations" rings especially hollow considering that global warming was not mentioned once in the months-long campaign, not even as Sandy slammed NYC, not even with climate experts predicting more, and more destructive, weather-related disasters in the near future.
Of course, no Presidential acceptance speech would be complete without several reminders of the past that obliges us to sacrifice ourselves now to make sure nothing changes... no, we can't have things go changing because previous generations sacrificed to create this way of doing things.
Obama skipped over the mistreatment of veterans unable to access health care and are living homeless on the streets of America, and pretended that the senior citizens dying of exposure in their homes in NYC are not victims of an uncaring disaster response as he trumpeted tired old slogans such as:
"love and charity and duty and patriotism. That’s what makes America great."
and newly coined ones like this:
"leaders from every party and level of government have swept aside their differences to help a community rebuild from the wreckage of a terrible storm.”
uhhhh, no, Mr. President, there are many residents of NYC not getting any help, check out the Alexander Higgens blog - his house, and neighborhood, was hit hard, they have no power or gas, it has been 12 days now...}
In all fairness, with levity and brevity, considering the lack of honesty in Pres. Obama's speech, and the fact of the MSM omitting the incident of the removal of the Lybian protestor holding up pictures of the dead children in his community, allow me one fat lie:
Pres. Obama acknowledged his wife Michelle by saying “I have never loved you..."
