Synchronous Events
(Path of my Life)
Emptiness of the heart what is behind addictions, the willfull blindness of people, and the damaging ways of the powerfull and wealthy,

If enough synchronous events start piling up, is there hope for change?
Within the microcosm of my own little world, perhaps not - and significant global change is not likely. If many seekers out there had synchronous events, it just might lead to big changes.
I was sent a video link - see previous post, and the book "Ishmael" arrived after an unexplainable two month delay, at the same time as my "chicken-lady" neighbor wrote me an email that exposed her misguided attitude as being exactly what the book and the video were getting at.
Meanwhile, my wealthy brother, an oil company CEO, has just recently informed me that he has ways of keeping my rightful inheritance from me [I live on $440/month]. He is willing to cause me such grief simply because we have a difference of opinion - I believe there are serious environmental problems in the world, and he denies that there are any at all.
So as all these things come together now, as the truth becomes clearer to me.
One theme running through all of it is about addiction. I was prescribed morphine for chronic neurological pains that have plagued me for the past 25 years.
Chicken-lady got ROOSTERS for her backyard egg operation, and they crow all day long. When I politely mentioned that the noise was bothersome, she said the Roosters crow when people are around, and she blamed me for having drug-addicted friends who come to see me. The lane into my place goes by that chicken coop. Yesterday when the Rooster got going full blast, I walked over to see - lo and behold if SHE wasn't standing there beside the Roosters visiting with a friend of hers!! Twice more throughout the day the Rooster got going, I checked, she was there.
None of what she said makes any sense of course - what does a Rooster know of people who are addicted, or if it is prescribed, or what-ev-errrrr!!
Denial,deflection.
My brother blames environmental activists for making life so difficult for oil companies, claiming "regulations are written to please activists". Here is a link to one of his incredulous speeches:

And as I sat in the autumn sunshine reading the Ishmael book - no, its not about Islam, "Ishmael" is a telepathic Gorrilla - I was learning about a different way to look at our modern civilisation. The author, Daniel Quinn, lays it out about how humans are mostly oblivious to the fact that we are using up natural resources at a faster and faster rate, contaminating the air and water, and that to continue on this trajectory will ensure the collapse of our this modern human civilisation.
It simply cannot continue this way, we have to9 make some changes, but the people in power are the least likely of all to change, and they are also getting in the way of solutions that might get us off this path towards destruction.
The video ties it all together - it shows Dr. Gabor Matte speaking about how drug addiction appeals to people who have an emptiness in their heart, most commonly because of not getting the love and attention they craved as children. Dr. Matte has spent much of his career with the most desperate homeless addicts. His research shows that the endorphin system of the human brain does not develop properly when children are deprived of the love and care they need, and even moreso when they are abused as children.
He explains that the Bhudda stories of "HUNGRY GHOSTS" have "big bellies and small mouths" and so they can "never fill the emptiness inside".
He ends the video with examples throughout history of the wealthy and powerfull people who also have this same emptiness of the heart. Power is a substitute for addiction.
And so here I am being persecuted, perhaps about to perish, by people who would judge me for having the same emptiness of the heart that they themselves have... but they cover up their emptiness of the heart by pointing at me as a cause of their problems - and yet of the chicken-lady, my wealthy brother, and myself, I am the only one of us who sees it.
