Is that an absolute Truth?
The oppressiveness of the present U.S. government extends directly and/or indirectly to virtually all Americans (except for Congress, the president the insiders, etc.; even though they are not all Americans). If the above quote is Truth then does that mean there is no virtue among the American people?
Sorry Charlie, I do not buy that as that is simply not what history reveals! Here's why:
The atrocities committed by the US government are legion! The most outstanding include a house-full of legalized propaganda such as the alleged "corporate person-hood"(1), the alleged passages of the 14th Amendment(2) and the Federal Reserve Act(3). The application of the 16th Amendment(4), the Crash of '29(5) and Pearl Harbor(6). These are just six, of an enormous, continual history of instances, that have revealed how government (be it by way of a clerk of the 'Supreme Court', the Congress and/or the President) has acted beyond the sacred trust of their office and committed treasonous acts against the American people. The facts of these instances "reflects" evil intent and not innocence; not by any stretch of the true meaning of the word!
Therefore the U.S.government is not innocently giving "its constituency what it deserves". It is just as the Founding Fathers said it is: "Government is 'force' ... compared to 'fire' ... a 'dangerous servant' and a 'fearful master'. Power should be dispersed among the people where they can keep it under control.":

However, If the "oppressiveness of government" is the result of usurpation(7), centralized and/or consolidated power that has not been duly arrested by the people then there is a shadow relationship between the people's unconscious acquiescence and the conscious assertion of powers under color of law. If you prefer to call that relationship one of mirroring then be my guest. For me it is a much deeper psychological phenomena and much more complex than can be simply likened unto an all inclusive mirror. There is probably 300 million individual "mirrors" in the u.s. of A. and yet the government does not have to be believed as reflecting back to any of those individuals in order to understand it's nature! The mirroring that is actually occurring with the government is between the corporations, the banking industry (and the like). There is the mirror, but there is not the innocence!
