NaturalNews Issues Global Boycott On The Following Brands
(Chef Jemichel ~ The Chef-Doctor)

NaturalNews Issues Global Boycott On The Following Brands by chef jem .....

"Natural brands betray consumers over GMO labeling: NaturalNews issues boycott of Kashi, Silk, Larabar and more". Chef Jem says you can probably add Morton Salt to this list.

Date:   8/21/2012 2:04:56 AM ( 12 y ago)

• Kashi (owned by Kellogg, which has contributed $612,000 to defeat Proposition 37) - Kashi cereals contain GMOs!

• Silk soymilk (owned by the nation's largest dairy, Dean Foods, which has contributed $253,000 to the effort to kill Proposition 37)

• Larabar (owned by General Mills, which has contributed $520,000 to defeat proposition 37)

• R.W. Knudsen (owned by Smucker, which has contributed $387,000 to defeat proposition 37)

• Santa Cruz Organic (also owned by Smucker, which has contributed $387,000 to defeat proposition 37)

• Cascadian Farm (owned by General Mills, which has contributed $520,000 to defeat proposition 37)

• Muir Glen (also owned by General Mills, which has contributed $520,000 to defeat proposition 37)

"... Many natural and organic brands are actually owned by huge conglomerates that don’t support sustainable, organic, non-GMO, non-toxic agriculture. In fact, their product labels are often designed to mislead consumers just so they can grab a share of the lucrative health-conscious consumer market.":

I shared the above with a housemate and he took issue over the use of the term "evil" that Mike Adams used to describe the actions of these companies. Well, as Forrest Gump might say: evil is what evil does. And as Jesus would say "By their fruits you will know them". Also: "... out of the heart of men, proceed evil reasonings ... murders, wickedness, deceit, ... arrogance, foolishness. All these wicked things proceed from within and defile a man."

August 27 - posted the following at the Bovine:

There certainly is "the gross hypocrisy and greed" factor at play here! However, the term "greed" does not fully express the seriousness of the impact that corporate greed can have on the people, on our environment and on all of life. A better statement regarding the impact in this instance would be "roots of evil" as in: "... the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" (1 Timothy 6:10). Therefore, the Natural News article that calls the named corporations evil is a reasonably right-use of the term!

In addition to the above listed companies Morton Salt also contributed to the anti GMO food-labeling proposition in California. So I just wrote the following to Morton:

Greetings

This article:

says your company contributed $14,879.01 against Prop 37 in California. Is that true?

Unless that is some kind of an error that can be corrected I intend to boycott your company and to support this information going viral on the internet. Please respond at your earliest convenience in the next three days.

I don't find "evil" listed in my Black's Law Dictionary. If there ever were any legal actions brought against these companies over this issue then declaring the company/ies as "evil" would probably not hold any water (unless the action took place in the Land of Oz). However (and fortunately) the "court of public opinion" is not restricted to Black's Law Dictionary!

Matthew 12:35
"... an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things."

John 3:20
"For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed."

John 7:7
"The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil."

Romans 1:30
"... inventors of evil things"

1 Timothy 6:10
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil"

Hebrews 5:14
"But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

"Isaiah 7:15 -
Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse the evil and choose the good."

The Cornucopia Institute Responds to the Stanford Survey

"Mark A. Kastel is Senior Farm Policy Analyst for The Cornucopia Institute, a non-profit that provides some of the most reliable information on sustainable and organic agriculture. He suggests the Stanford survey overlooked some essential pieces needed for an in-depth analysis:

They discounted many of the studies, including by the USDA, that show our conventional food supply’s nutritional content has dropped precipitously over the last 50 years. This has been attributed to the declining health of our farms’ soil, and healthy soil leads to healthy food. Organic farming’s core value is building soil fertility.

Furthermore, there are many externalities that impart risk on us as individuals and as a society, which the physicians failed to look at. For example, eating organic food protects us all from exposure to agrichemicals contaminating our water and air.

Additionally, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have become ubiquitous in processed food with an estimated 80%-90% contaminated with patented genes by Monsanto and other biotechnology corporations. The use of GMOs is prohibited in organics.":
