Top two Eco MaGs made from reused: electronic motherboard from a broken TV remote--cut in half, jar lids, corrugated cardboard, packaging material, junk jewelry. nontoxic glue, magnets
Bottom Eco MaG made from reused: electronic motherboard from a broken toy, jar lid, corrugated cardboard, sandpaper scrap. nontoxic glue, magnet
Eco MaG made from reused: electonic motherboard from an orphaned VCR remote (found the remote hidden away on a shelf in my house; the VCR it went to was kaput years ago), advertising flier, corrugated cardboard, cereal box cardboard. nontoxic glue, magnet backing
I played with the little rubber words from the VCR and re-arranged them to say "Cancel Once Weekly, Add Time" as a reminder to myself: Turn off the TV/VCR/DVD player now and then and have time for something else--like taking a walk in nature!
Maybe you think I'm nuts, but I find the electronic components of this VCR remote to be very beautiful! The only things I added to the motherboard were the little rubber words, and I added on the blue bulb on the lower bottom left; the rest of the electronics are just as I found them on the motherboard.
This remote is much more complex than the TV remote. I can imagine people sitting on an assembly line soldering on all of the little components...very tedious work!
