Protect the Spirit Bear
(EarthSpirit)
Spirit Bears only live on the coast of British Columbia. Their habitat is endangered by the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline that would carry 500,000 barrels a day of oil from the Alberta tar sands directly through the home of the Spirit Bear. I've made some mini art work to celebrate the Spirit Bear. Please take action to help protect Spirit Bears and their habitat.

Eco MaG by mayah "Spirit Bear" (c)2011
The wonderful photo of this White Spirit Bear is from National Resources Defense Council. The background is a photo of British Columbia, the habitat of the Spirit Bear. In British Columbia, one out of every 10 bear cubs is born white. The Spirit Bears are threatened:
"The proposed Northern Gateway pipeline would carry 500,000 barrels a day of the world’s dirtiest oil from the Alberta tar sands directly through the home of the Spirit Bear, native only to the coastal rainforest of Canada’s British Columbia. Tell Christy Clark, the Premier of British Columbia, to defend the Spirit Bear Coast by actively opposing the Northern Gateway pipeline."

Eco MaG by mayah (c)2011 "Gaia, Spirit of the Earth"
Gaia, Spirit of the Earth, is watching what we humans do to protect her creatures. Photos from NRDC brochure/magazines--the background photo is British Columbia, habitat that is threatened by the proposed Northern Gateway oil pipeline; the eyes are of a fox.

This art piece is an example of "shamanic art", when the energy of Spirit is felt very strongly and a message is given.

Maybe my art will end up at Goodwill some day too; hopefully, someone will come along and reuse the frame and make something new out of the art work like I have!
